My Gas Line Rant

Ok, so we've been off work most of this week due to Katrina. Running low on gas I go to get in a long line to get gas. Well, when I get there they say no gas, but that a truck is coming, so since I ended up being like 2 cars from the pump, I decided to stay and then cars piled in behind me so I was kind of trapped. This was at 10 am yesterday. Fast forward to 7 pm - no gas, no truck, no info, just a bunch of dumba** people drinking beer in the line to get gas. Well, wouldn't you know it, the cops show up, not to direct traffic and keep order but to arrest one of the guys drinking and so since there had been drinking on the premises, they made everyone leave, yep, you heard me, EVERYONE leave the premises. So after sitting there almost 10 hours for gas, I left with even less than I started with. There's no gas anywhere near me...what's a bitch to do

It's pretty scary stuff going on here, gas trucks being hijacked and crime and looting here too. I might not be online much, but I'll miss you guys when I'm away...Keep us all in your thoughts.

Be careful out there, it's not worth getting killed over gas.

thanks to all for your kind words. I was finally able to get some gas today after going around like I was on a witch hunt and being extremely aggressive in my driving

but we made it to Sam's and they were doing a great job of handling the lines and the pumps. I hopped out and renewed my Sam's card and was able to get gas in about 20-30 minutes. so relieved. now, I'm trying to help my friend do the same thing. he's running below half a tank...

NOLA is 2.5 hrs away yet it feels like it is on the other side of the world, I can't believe what is going on there and on the coast - I am beside myself and so sad
