The news thrives on giving us the worst, but I've heard some amazing stories of Americans who are helping out. Americans have given TONS of money just since yesterday! Churches are helping, people are letting strangers stay in their homes, donations are rolling in. Dallas has opened Reunion Arena for people. The generosity is awesome. Yes, there are stupid people, but for every stupid person, there's someone who cares and gives.

Our government has let us down, but the American people have not.

Amazon.com has raised $4 million so far. That's encouraging.

celine dion & the new york yankees ea gave a million, will & grace gave 150,000...~ i have heard wonderful stories of other folks helping out ea other too & it does give me hope~

Seriously.

My though now - is people are getting all jumpy on here over the littlest things...take these same people and put them in a situation like the one in NO - and I'm sure they'd fully understand the horriffic behaviour going on down there....people are being pushed to their limits.

I for one know I couldn't handle it.

Everything in my life - EVERYTHING - seem so small - and I will think again before complaining about my weight - or eating a chocolate bar...those things don't matter.

If anythign good has come out of this tragedy it's a new perspective I feel that I've gained on life.

Life is too short to get caught up in trite things - if you have that much engergy to expell - please take it and do something positive with it.

bless you, this is so true, i was having a mini crisis in my life yesterday & realized how insignificant it really was for me to be freaking out, especially after seeing the carnage on t.v.~ bless you girl for saying this!!!
