I took those silly educationist tests in elementary school -- I must have taken a hundred or more in my six years at Baldwin Stocker. I know I went through hundreds of #2 pencils. I scored super well on just about all of them, as I recall. What did that have to do with the governor at the time? I don't even remember who the governor was at the time!
Read above posts again....it was incidental.

Since you're a supporting Ledgie you can use the search function. Many of us has posted a great deal of factual info on Bush's term as governor of Texas. A simple search of the Chit Chat archives could reveal some interesting reading. But if your mind is closed, that is fine as well.

So is Molly Ivins. Being a lifelong Texan surely doesn't mean that you're blind to the facts of his tenure as governor.

do the same...We have been on the other end of the stick in the past and are thankful to help out anyone (Ask those in NYC about those in OKC who flew immediately to NYC after 911 to offer our help...And strength from 'experience'. NYFD members helped in the Murrah recovery, unfortunately most of those men died on 911.)

As much as I've enjoyed, (still enjoying), this conversation. I must leave for now....taking formula and diapers to shelters and churches for evacuees. Look forward to more conversation later. Even though we all have different opinions.....it sure is nice to hear them! You all are great...wish I could meet you....just remember I respect all sides as valuable, and nothing I say is meant to diminish or negate your feelings or opinions! Thanks everybody, sea ya later!!!

To many it will. It will not to you I know. But, it will to many down there. They love him for the most part. Plus, the presence of the Pres. in general gives many hope - I know not you though as concerns this President. Not everyone thinks the same.

Not in the beginning - but they have now - and I have to say that the FEMA people and guardsmen on the ground are doing a great job with what they have. They are just overwhelmed and that is the high powers fault.

Everyone - check this out - THIS is what the Administration is worried about. I'm sure the crisis will be all over by then.

http://americablog.blogspot.com/2005...in-nola-3.html

While people are dying in NOLA, 3 minutes before Bush addresses the nation about Katrina, HHS urges employees to focus on Bush's 9/11 wargasm party

(snip)

This is the PENTAGON running this event in only 10 days, folks. How many Pentagon employees are going to be working on this party instead of helping save the dying people in New Orleans? How much Pentagon money and equipment is going to be spent on this propaganda party while people are dying in the south?

This is an email sent out by the US Department of Health and Human Services to its employees yesterday afternoon, only 3 minutes before Bush spoke to the nation about the hurricane. Those are some priorities the Bush administration has. While people are dying in New Orleans our top health agency is being told to devote its time and energy to a party.

Subject: Commemoration of Patriot Day

In twelve days, we will commemorate Patriot Day, a day to remember the tragic events of September 11, 2001, a day to honor members of the Armed Forces currently serving at home and abroad, and a day to reiterate our commitment to the freedoms we enjoy. I will honor Patriot Day by participating in the Freedom Walk, a memorial event sponsored by the Department of Defense. I invite you as employees of the Department of Health and Human Services to join me.

The Freedom Walk begins at 10 a.m. in the Pentagon's south parking lot, winds two miles through Arlington National Cemetery and over the Potomac River, and ends at the Reflecting Pool on the National Mall where country music star Clint Black will perform. The walk is free, but people must register by visiting www.AmercaSupportsYou.mil

September 11 marked a change in the way we view our world, our nation and ourselves. The betterment of ourselves and our country is our response. In whatever way you choose to commemorate the horrendous acts of early September four years ago, let us once again renew our gratitude for the freedoms we enjoy and reaffirm our commitment to tolerance, peace and liberty throughout the world.

Not really. I was just calling you on your typical BS. You were suggesting W should not go, etc. Yet, let him not go and you'd bitch about that too. i was just clarifying that.

I was suggesting that it was pointless for him to go. And you don't clarify, you muddle.

Interestingly, you seem to like to avoid the facts and instead insert rhetoric when facts are presented. That makes a logical argument hard to undertake. I mean what does being a lifelong Texan have to do with liking W, who can barely claim he is actually from Texas. Moreover, isn't your current Gov. the same? In any event, I am all about facts.
