I'd just love to bump into Stevie at Bed Bath and Beyond while she's got a toilet plunger, scented candles and a waterproof mattress cover in her cart. What a story that would make for The Star Magazine!

Here's a good reason why we don't see paparazzi snaps of Stevie in everyday life shopping or going to Starbucks or going to the spa, etc. Stevie's gone on the record in a zillion interviews that she sleeps late, not waking up until the late afternoon and stays up all night until past dawn. So being a 'nightbird', there's probably less of a chance of catching her doing daytime things. Her assistants can do that stuff for her. I think she's of a different generation anyway. Maybe the Lindsey Lohans, Paris Hiltons, and Olsen Twins of the world today want to be independent and drive their own cars and go buy their own stuff and act like everyone else except be really rich and famous- but I think Stevie is cut from more of the 70's cloth where rock star's bought castles and lived like kings and had entourages that did everything for you. Somehow I don't see Robert Plant or Mick Jagger going to Mcdonald's by themselves and buying a 'Big Mac'. Same goes for Stevie, she's just 'better' than that. I also think she understands the Dietrich/Garbo/Monroe/Kelly glamour mystique quite well, and for that reason is rarely caught in public not looking or behaving like a 'star'.
So true....why else would we all be discussing this....she always leaves us wanting to know more...

I can't imagine being in my late 50's and not ever having driven a car. Well she DID once drive a car. But she ended up careeening down a hill in San Franciso if I recall correctly. And I think if Stevie does "break wind" on occasion, it smells only of Nag Champra. Or perhaps Wheat Thins.

I think that's adorable that she hasn't ever driven a car!

[QUOTE=diamondsnake]The reason I ask is because I see lots of candid pictures of most celebs, but not Stevie. I mean, I have never seen Stevie wielding a Starbucks cup with a bunch of body guards surrounding her... I have never seen any pics of her shopping

I think they're pictures floating around of Stevie shopping in Phoenix.

On BuckinghamNicks.net and/or sararhiannon.net, for example.

Usually buying toy stuffed animals and dolls!

The Paparazzi, I believe, are too busy stalking Britney Spears.

Stevie's way Popular - but not THAT popular!

This is True. I know a girl who worked at the Bed bath and Beyond in Paridise valley, and she said that she saw her in there every now and then! She said that she remembers her buying pillows. I am allways so jealous, because around here in Phoenix, It seems like other people see her, just not me! Not to long ago, my dentist told me (there was gause in my mouth I almost chocked) " Hey I saw that singer you like last night, She was out having dinner with her parents." I also kew a girl who used to be a waitress at one of the nicer restaraunts, and she saw Stevie too. But I do have to agree with whoever posted earlier, that no one really leves the house in Phoenix in august! it is october through april that we live for, but the rest sheesh!!

I happen to remember that the exact quote was,

"That's because I am familiar to you"

I never understood it either.

I THINK maybe what she meant is that there's something about him,

the way he thinks, etc., the way he is "spiritually," that caused him

to vaguely know who she was, even if he couldn't place it.

And, of course, to throw him for a "Stevieloop" and maybe freak

him out a little. . . .

I agree, though - "SO Stevie!!!" LOL!

She uh, had a blue Mercedes in the late '70s that she drove -

I believe I've read that she was quite PROUD of it, too!

There's a picture of her with it floating around - buckinghamnicks.net,

maybe.

There's also a white Jeep that was recently auctioned for charity or

on e-Bay or something,

and she also had bought a red Porsche the day after she saw

"Risky Business" - so yeah, she's definitely driven.

But she's said in interviews that she "let her license expire" because

she was too busy touring, etc.

She uhh, also may have been encouraged too. . .

But rumour has it that she's gotten her license back,

and now drives an SUV!

She's probably a much better driver now than she used to be,

I bet.

The thought of Stevie driving an SUV is very, very frightening. Besides that, I don't think a delicate little flower like Stevie would be caught dead in such a mundane and HUGE "masculine" vehicle. She needs one of those little battery powered "Barbie" cars.

She must have traded in the White Lincoln Navigator she drove to the AZ Heart benefit a few years back.....I wonder what ever would posess her to buy a hummer...I don't think she could reach the pedals, unless she bought the new Hummer H3....she would look cute as a button in one of those....
