Default OHH THAT Smell..Can you Smell that Smell

UGHHH My dog just got sprayed by a fricking Skunk! It is horrible..Anyone got any home remedies to get the smell out of here?? I looked online and it says tomato juice is just myth just masks the smell..I tried baking soda, liquid soap and peroxide but ewww can still smell faint traces of SKUNK... I sometimes hate living in the country.

Tomato juice bath. Seriously. I've never had to do it, but I've ALWAYS heard that's the remedy. Best of luck!

Ugh. That would drive me nuts! I can imagine from all the times I've smelled skunks on the road on the way to school and such. It's hard to hold your nose continuously for miles. I hope you're able to find a remedy.

funny, skunk smell never really bothered me...and I live in the mountains where I smell skunks daily, and they walk past my bedroom window etc...and they get run over on a daily basis..........anyway, I always thot fresh skunk smelled like concentrated lemon juice... you know, real lemon reconstituted lemon juice?

open a brand new bottle and take a big whiff, smells like teen spirit..I mean skunk!

I guess if you tell yourself it doesnt bother you, voila! it doesnt bother you

Realize that there's nothing you can do but eliminate the incubator. Find the culprit and demand that he reinsert the odor into his system. It will eventually eat away at his colon, all the while he is completely unaware of the causes behind the shooting pain he feels so regularly.

Ew, Jill... that's not so nice. Poor pup (and you). I remember my dog got skunked when I was younger; I think we did do the tomato juice bath. One word of advice: buy LOTS. We had to do my dog a couple of times in tomato juice, and then a regular shampoo to get out the tomato smell!

Good luck... what kind of dog is he?

Angry My dog too!!!

Coincidence or fate??

Guess what? My dog got a light spray yesterday too. Early in the morning he went out to do his daily walk of the grounds when suddenly, I can smell skunk in the kitchen (through the open windows). I quickly call him into the house- hoping the skunk was just walking around and that is why we can smell it...but NO...He either walked under a branch that had been sprayed or something because his back fur smells like eau du pepe la pew!

Our Vet has some product called skunk away- or skunk be gone or something like that. I am going to pick some up today. I'll write back and let you know how it works.... He was almost banished to the crate too, but it's not really that bad..but it is longering I'll be happy to have it gone- Been burning lots of Nag Champra,------ still there

I'll let you know

Eww I feel for you..Mine too just got a light spray if there is such a thing..You can tell he didn;t get the full force of it cause the smell is mainly on his neck and head..think he was chasing it under our baby barn..our vet has that skunk be gone too.but am a bit concerned about using it right now as my little demon is being treated for skin allergies right now and am worried about putting anything harsh on his skin..Gonna call the vet and see what he says..Good luck on getting rid of that smell..let me know how that stuff works..
