The teased, puffy perm she got from Eber looks like the same hairstyle she had when Fleetwood Mac filmed the "Little Lies" & "Big Love" videos later that year. Did Eber do Stevie's hair for those video shoots?

Anecdote: When she played the Inglewood Forum on July 18, 1986, I saw Eber & Friend arrive before "Beauty & the Beast," sit down in the front, & then duck backstage after the song.

I thought at the time, "Why doesn't she make friends with someone who really digs her music instead of someone who just wants to be seen with her?" (Eber was all over daytime talk shows in those days, gabbing about all his star friends -- a typical Hollywood Queen.)

So what was the Stevie-Eber connection all about, & how long did it last?
It was a contest, with the winner having her hair styled by Stevie. I remember they did a story about it on one of the tabloid shows (ET, I think...).

The winner came in with mousy, brown, semi-curly hair that was pretty long - at least to her shoulderblades. And when Stevie was done, she had a very straight, deep crimson/maroon bob cut or pageboy, like she just stepped off the set of a psychedelic remake of The Great Gatsby. But, the winner *said* she liked it.

Stevie and Jose also gave a short interview, where Stevie gave her "If I weren't a singer/songwriter, I'd be a hairdresser or teacher" speech. Then, they had video of footage of her posing for the press cameras which was a little strange, especially with her aforementioned scary hairdo. She was very robotic, jerking her head around then quickly stopping to pose for separate photographers. But that hair NEVER moved.
