Well if you look at the VH1 Headline Act show from 04 (I think it was). There is quite abit of footage in that which is the same footage that is in the Japan 3 dvd backstage, tour stuff... So someone has it, or had it to provide to VH1!

Yeah, wasn't the tag line when they first were advertising DR that it was culled from over 500 hours of film

The only thing I could speculate is that both WERE released on RCA videos, so maybe it was easier to get the rights to both.

Region 0, a.k.a. Region Free, means that the dvd is not country specific. For example, Region 1 is the US & Canada.
Exactly. I thought

Region 0 - Universal, playable in all players
Region 1 - NTSC
Region 2 - PAL

I just don't understand how something can be Region 0, yet in the PAL format. Or maybe it's just a misprint, or they're specifically stating that it's viewable by PAL machines, since it's an Aussie release...

And sadly, I don't have a DVD drive in my PC, but thanks for the tip! I'll make sure to get a monster-drive when/if I upgrade. Of course by then, BluRay will be out - AIEEEEEEEEE.

.. i love that scene.. would love to have seen it in its entirety... but i guess it would have shed a negative light on Stevie and maybe she just didnt want the image of her being like that out there...
Or the scene where she says to the camera "This is not about art, it's about finances." They completely took that out.

The sad thing is that the doc was all about drama, but it really amounted to nothing and it would have been a better watch if they had made it about the actual construction of the album and the songs on it. If they were going to go for the drama, they should have included the juicy bits. What was the point of telling us that there were HUGE fights about the final product (running order, etc.) and not showing us a single piece of film on them?!

If you use the "Make Your Own DVD-Video" part of the program and you've added a PAL file to your project, this is what you do:

1. Click the "More" button at the bottom.
2. Click "Video Options"
3. Under the "Video mode" drop down menu, select NTSC.

You should be all set after that, though you'll probably have to fool around with the quality setting.

Actually the region doesn't determine if it is PAL or NTSC, PAL or NTSC are just colour formats. The region is just where the movie is from. 1 is America and Canada, 6 is Austalia but 0 can be played anywhere as long as it is a PAL format.

I don't know. I tend to think that if she had had a problem with how she came across in that footage, then she never would have let VH1 show it in the first place. You know what I mean?

Most things look much worse when taken out of context, as that was.

Yea - people have said that La Nicks edited it to make herself look better - but I agree that if she (or her people rather) hated it in the first place, it would have never been shown. Plus, the doc. showed some heavy stuff - so why take out the other stuff, some of which had already been shown. Finally, they all agreed to be filmed, so they must have been aware of that when they had the tantrums and La Nicks is usually the most outspoken and IMO the frankest of them in interviews in that she openly discussed her addictions (the coke after a few years - granted) and other things about working with FM and the environment around her

But, people think otherwise -- that is what I think

The only drawback to converting the dvd this way is that you lose the menu and chapters unless you create them manually.

For $45 at newegg.com , you can get one of the top dvd burners, the NEC 3540A.

BluRay and HD DVD still have to duke it out anyway.
