Right on! You know we'd find some way of distorting and subverting even that game. You do remember the 'pervs' thread, dont you...

Thanks for saying that, Mark.

I'm just now getting caught up on the posts in this thread since last night, and I was going to say something, too, but then I caught your post.

I think it's unfair for any of us to make comments, especially public ones, presuming someone else's sexual orientation. Especially that of a teenager.

I never felt I HAD to like something just because I'm gay... it just turns out that some of the stuff I love/enjoy turned out to be stereotypical of gays.

I loved Stevie and dug Cher and Madonna way before I knew there was any kind of gay connection. I was too sheltered in my tiny little western Pennsylvania town to know about any of that stuff.

Towie's story about Grease and Donna Summer's 'On The Radio' double-album was too funny, because I was obsessed with both when I was little.
Of course, I was also obsessed with Wonder Woman when I was little.

Yet, there are plenty of other stereotypically "gay" things that I'm not the least bit interested in (hair, clothes, having the perfect body, going to all the best restaurants and hippest clubs, laying every hot guy you see), and most of the stereotypical tendencies I have, begin and end with pop culture (music, TV, broadway shows).

I did go through that phase when I first came out. It was relatively short-lived, though. I guess it's just too hard for me to pretend to like something that I just don't. I used to think that I needed to be reading and buying all those gay and lesbian magazines but then I just got tired of it.

Shoes...yuck, I am like Stevie...I wear boots all summer long...and I shall keep my ovaries, thank you Paula...
I am another straight woman that hates shopping for shoes-dress-up clothes- or Christmas presents.
I love football, Formula One Racing and Nature stuff (as long as it comes with room service.!!)
Now I will tell the truth and say I did not read all the posts but what's this about Cher and Madonna??

What about Barbara Striesand-Bette Midler-and Barry Manilow..everyone knows Gay folks love em' (ducking as I write)
