Blech. She does zippo for me. At least two gay men have loved Liza- Peter Allen and David Guest.

I like the Indigo Girls, but I'm straight. Closer To Fine is a great song, and the other night I was practically in tears watching part of their concert (it was on Logo ) They did a tune - I don't know the name of it - it was basically about the church & marriage. Very sad.
"Philosophy of Loss" (oooooooooohhhhh, that song gives me shivers)

"Welcome to why the church has died
In the heart of the exiled in the kingdom of hate
Who owns the land & keeps the commands
And marries itself to the state

Modern scribes write in Jesus Christ
Everyone is free
And the doors open wide to all straight men & women
But they are not open to me

And who is teaching kids to be soldiers
To be marked by a plain white cross
And we kill just a little to save a lot more
The philosophy of loss

There are a few who would be true out of love
And love is hard
And don't think that our hands haven't shoveled the dirt
Over their central American graveyards

Doctors & witch hunters stripped you bare
Left you nothing for your earthly sins
Yeah but who made this noise just a bunch of boys
And the one with the most toys wins

Who is teaching kids to be gamblers
Life is a coin toss
And of course what you give up is what you gain
The philosophy of loss

Whatever has happened to anyone else
Could happen to you & to me
And the end of my youth was the possible truth
That it all happens randomly

Who is teaching kids to be leaders
and the way that it is meant to be
The philosophy of loss
"

They are incredible singer-songwriters.
They are up there in the top 10, that's for sure. I could go on and on about them.

I have tried to like Liza because I really like Judy, but I can't get over her crappy material and that horrible vibrato. Although I do like New York New York and a couple others, in general I don't like Liza.

Hey, my crazy brother (one of them) gave me a CD with that exact song on it years ago when the only people I cared about were Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears. Of course I didn't like the song! But--wow! I'll have to go dig it up.

Her voice is like buttah. I was just listening to Come Away with Me a bit ago. "I want to wake up with the rain falling on a tin roof. In fields where the yellow grass grows knee high." Thing is, you have to be ready to relax to listen, if you are sleepy and trying to work, do not put her on because you'll be all done.

I think they're alike just because they have some really, really low-key music. That's the only similarity I know of but I made the comment because he said Ani bores him. That's what so many people say about Norah, too.

The Indigo Girls are fantastic. A friend of mine rented their house years ago when they were just becoming famous. I think this is the best thing they have ever written and that is saying a mouthful

Kif Fears

Pain from pearls-hey little girl-
How much have you grown?
Pain from pearls-hey little girl-
Flower for the ones you've known.

Are you on fire,
From the years?
What would you give for your
Kid fears?

Secret staircase, running high,
You had a hiding place.
Secret staircase, running low,
But they all know, now you're inside.

Are you on fire,
From the years?
What would you give for your
Kid fears?

Skipping stones, we know the price now,
Any sin will do.
How much further, if you can spin.
How much further, if you are smooth.

Are you on fire,
From the years?
What would you give for your
Kid fears?

Replace the rent with the stars above.
Replace the need with love.

Replace the anger with the tide.
Replace the ones, the ones, the ones, that you love.

Replace the rent with the stars above.
Replace the need with love.

Replace the anger with the tide.
Replace the ones, the ones, the ones, that you love.

Are you on fire,
From the years?
What would you give for your
Kid fears?

Replace the rent with the stars above.
Replace the need with love.

Replace the anger with the tide.
Replace the ones, the ones, the ones, that you love.

I like her scrappy personality and she has a lovely voice, but I can't say I'm a fan of her music. Though I do like her versions of the songs from Gypsy. Very glad she's getting back on track, too. I'm not into a whole lot of that Broadway stuff, it has to be quirky for me to like it. Like Angela Lansbury in Sweeney Todd or Bebe Neuwirth in Chicago.

Awwr....I'm sorry. We can still be awesome friends, right?

PS: I still worry about you kidnapping me, Suze. And Amber, we still have a catch schedualed.

That's true. I hope she has some longevity because I do like her quite a bit. And she doesn't whore herself out, so you don't get as sick of her as you do with others.

Are you jumping up and down for Bonnie's new album, Suze? I am.

I prefer Blood and Fire. Her delivery on that song kills me "And I am calling you, calling you, from 10,000 miles away. Won't you wet my fire with your love, babe?" Also their hit, Closer to Fine, love that song.
