Red Dirt Girl is her masterpiece, imo, and one of the greatest albums ever recorded. Wrecking Ball, Red Dirt Girl, and Stumble Into Grace are all good ones to get if you like her experimental, alternative work, but if you want her earlier and bluegrass stuff, I recommend getting Anthology.

At 6'4" -- a sleigh bed really does not work for me. And - you are all about the monochromatic with color used sparingly to accent, which is very Andree Putnam. I used to do that look - but now have moved on. I am a fan of larger furniture because I am large and thus, do not care for Sheridan, Hepplewhite, etc. - though I appreciate the craftsmanship.

I grew up with a lot of Mallard and Seignouret period stuff, which was sort of Fench colonial - it really is too small for me though.

Can't wait for her new album, some of the things posted on her site about the sessions make it sound as if it's going to be even more left-field than her last few albums.
BUT have you heard her version of Love Hurts with Gram Parsons?
One of the best ever duets/harmonies ever IMO!

You could always get a custom-made one like I did if you like them enough. I'm over six feet and wanted it to be big, but I also have a very large bedroom and can fit it in there easily. All I know is that I'll go to the Mattress Barn and pick out something before I put a four poster in my apartment.

As for Putnam, I don't think I can forgive her for Pershing Hall. Gawd, how I hated that one. Lovely bathrooms, but I really loathed the rest.

I'd be a lousy fan if I hadn't.

I love every version of it, but there's something about the Spyboy ones that are really remarkable. If you have the Spyboy live CD, the one on there is great.

I am not a fan of pedastel sinks - I find them completely non-functional. However, some put a ledge above them to put things on, which I think she did there.

As for the Beaux Arts style - and other French influence - I grew up in that. So, I like it a lot.

Well I would have forgiven you if you hadn't, it is on a Gram album afterall

I just love that version myself. The Gram/Emmlou harmonies are perfection to me. I think few duets have come close.

Atrocity. I'd prefer bumper stickers or license plates all over a wall.

How nice - I bet you move the dishes out of the way in the sink before you pee in it - too
