I don't like the production on No Questions Asked. I've never heard any alternative or demo versions. Paper doll is unique and upbeat.

I do have it. I like being able to hear the vocals better, but I'm so used to the released product that I'm not all ga-ga one way or the other.

You know what sucks? I blew the joke... I was supposed to say, "Your taste is all in your mouth", which is a lift from that classic Lucy episode "Ethel's Birthday" where Fred thinks his gift idea of a toaster sucks, so he asks Lucy to buy a gift for him, and she ends up getting Ethel a pair of harlequin satin pedal pushers. Ethel is aghast and proceeds to slam Fred for selecting someone to buy a gift in his place that has such poor taste (which is all in their mouth). Lucy tries to convince Ethel that they are "hostess pants" which one wears to "smart dinner parties". Ethel's response- "Oh, I was wondering what I was gonna wear to all those smart dinner parties I throw..." Ethel proclaims she would have rather had the toaster. After much sniping, Lucy exits the scene stating, "Happy Birthday, I hope you live another 75 years" and slams the door.

By the by, I use that "hope you live another 75" line allllll the time with women at my job whenever they haul out the obligatory insincere employee birthday card routine.

So, I failed. However, "No Questions Asked" is still a pretty good number.

I think these are both weak songs compared to the bulk of Stevie's outstanding work.

Easily No Questions Asked. I really love that song. Paper Doll is one of her all time worst.
