the funny thing is with all the complaints, arguments, etc. on the ledge...we all still come back here! shows how much we deeply do love it.

Yeah, I posted here when I was at work last semester and things were slow. I can't resist. This place is addictive.

I don't know who you're referring to but that drives me crazy, too. I just don't get it.

Yep. I've gotten really pissed off at some people but at the same time there is just so much about this place I love. Keeps me coming back. I've never been so loyal to a message board. I've never had half as many posts at any other message as I have here.

Yeah - I don't want to "name names" lol....but yeah - the über obsessiveness scares me - thinking Stevie's some unhuman being from above...um yikes

I used to think I was SOO unhealthily obsessed - then I found the Ledge and realized I'm not as crazy as I thought - there are bigger crazies than me out there

Yeah, it's definitely not the letter itself. I think anytime you reach out to try and make someone feel better, it's the intention behind what you are doing that matters. I think that there were probably a lot of celebrities who reached out to Peter in similar ways but I don't think you are going to see many of them publicize it necessarily. I would feel differently if say, Peters wife, or a family member came out and said "I wanted to share this wonderful letter that Peter received from Stevie Nicks" than her doing it. If we pretend that this isn't Stevie we are talking about for a minute, it might seem a little contrived. What I really don't think I will ever understand is how when people are critical about Stevie, even if it is in a rational way, so many people react like you just pushed their kid off a swing at the playground.

Yeah! I mean, I have so many Stevie CDs that I've bought and made, and I have entire sections of my room at which the walls are covered with pictures of her and I love gazing at them, yet there are people who are more obsessed than I am! Who knew?

The thing is- my posts weren't critical of the journal entry in particular, not like others.

I meant that about Peter. I've taken his death very badly, and I do remember how absolutely amazing he was on 9/11. I think it's cool Stevie and I were experiencing the same thing.

What I WAS crabby about the people who WERE critical getting the lame "and they call themself a fan?!" comments. Yeah. Nancy, who's gone to how many shows? and spends how much of her time and resources on making an awesome website for our little community? isn't a fan, because she thinks Stevie's letter is self-absorbed? THAT is what annoys me. I don't like Stevie bashing either.

Maybe it's just because I really don't visit the Stevie board that I'm hopping all over this. I guess the bashing of Stevie and the bashing of Stevie bashers is too common here and not something to argue about anymore.

I find it kind of funny you are quoting yourself---lol

I guess I need to read back because I don't think I read anyone saying someone wasn't a fan because of their opinion in this thread, but maybe I'm wrong---I will read back and see.. And you're right the stevie bashing/and stevie bashers bashing (lol) is very common here...and most of us, even the obsessed Stevie fans like myself, have come to just humor it and play along
