When I read that, it's actually a point in favor of cats...

I like them both. I have cats. They are easier to take care of right now.

BUT when a person ****s in the bowl - it is immediately flushed away to another location - and there's water. It's not left to fester in a pile of smelly dirt.

Well in my experience - you don't own the cat, the cat owns you

Yes, Deanna, I realize that.

What about human puke? Because reading that just made me throw up all over my keyboard...

Oh yeah, I love both.

I don't have much experience in handling the human version of the stuff. I'm afraid you're on your own...

I love both, but I'm more of a cat person. We have the two cats, and we've talked about getting dog, but my husband says we travel too much to have a dog. We don't want to board a dog again and don't want to dump it on family when we go away. So for now it's cats. Yes, the litter boxes are a bit gross, but it's worth it. Just the stress relief alone they provide is worth it. I was having a really bad day last week, and Violet comes flying in my office and slid across the pergo floor. Made me laugh.

^Great pics!^

Cats are much lower maintenance, as far as working & traveling. When we go out of town, I just ask someone to stop by once or twice a day to feed them & fill their water bowl. Bubba stays at his grandma's house (and yes, she calls herself his grandma )

Thanks, Paula. We do the same thing. I have great neighbors and we all look out for each other when we go away.

Does anyone else have cats that will ONLY drink out of the toilets? I'll put water bowls down for them, but they prefer the toilets. It doesn't really bother me. My toilets are always clean and I make sure to flush several times after using cleaner. But I just can't get them to drink out of a bowl.

I used to let my cat do this but my roommate hated it so we now keep the seat down so Mufy can't get into it. Sometimes when we have guests they don't do this and he gets to sneak a slurp. So if you really want him to drink out of his bowl close the seat on the toilet. Some cats prefer running water though which is what I think attracted Mufy to the bowl. He likes to drink out of the tap too, and out of his Mom's glass. I don't drink from the glass when he's done though.

Like I said, it doesn't bother me. The little neighbor girls who watch them sometimes when we go away think it's gross. Violet does like to drink water out of the tap, too. Like when I run a bath for my daughter Violet is right there drinking out of the spigot. Then she plays with the tub toys.
