Wink Home Sweet Home

I thought you were going to be roughing it for like 2 to 3 weeks-

Glad I was wrong!!
Hopefully the weather was beautiful and you enjoyed yourself-but like I said...my idea of camping is ..."Room Service, I'm a little thirsty!"

WELL,-welcome back

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE this song! The album cut is great of course, but nothing will ever top OTR live, the shows wouldn't be the same without it

This is my favorite Stevie solo song, no doubt. I know that some have pointed out the musical similiarities to "Dreams," but I don't really care. I love the lyrics, especially the line Paula mentioned at the beginning of this thread. It never gets old for me, though I prefer the album version to the live one and I have to say that I wish she hadn't done it live so many times so as not to risk people getting sick of it. Wonderful, wonderful song. It was an instant favorite when I first got Bella Donna.

I have to admit that I have never been super-crazy about this song. I think the overall melody and lyrics are mediocre at best. I remember playing one of the Enchanted box set CD's over the intercom at a gift shop I worked at, and a customer actually remarked when "OTR" was on, "what is this song? It's really bad."

Never cared much for it There are some demo versions that are soooo much better than the CD version--it is okay live though

Actually, it was a middle-aged woman, so I doubt that. Some people just don't like certain songs that other people do, what can I say? I was once watching the video of the HBO special, "Stevie Nicks in Concert" (the one from the Bella Donna tour), and "Gold and Braid" was playing. My mom, who is Stevie's age, walked in (this was toward the end of the song when Stevie was getting down with her tambo and doing the Charleston and stuff), and my mom goes, "Oh, Lisa, this sounds awful. You like this?" So I guess there's no accounting for taste!
