Wink New CDs...?

Just picked up some new CDs and got one by a band called "Dredg" and the album is titled: Catch Without Arms. It's got a neon green cover with a fly on it I think. GREAT, great album. Got kind of a U2-ish guitar sound, really solid vocals comparable to the guy from Coldplay a bit. I was pleased with the songwriting and the sound. Check it out.

I also purchased Joan Jett's Greatest Hits, Squeeze's Greatest Hits, and Sting's (aka Stink) Ten Summoner's Tales...(hey Fields of Gold is gold, baby!)

One of my coworkers is a huge Dredg fan. He tried to get me into them but it just didn't do anything for me. He was quite disappointed with their latest release, said it was too pop. A lot of it did sound like 80s era U2. I can't remember the name of the song, but as I was listening to it I started singing "Where the Streets Have No Name."

Wow I haven't bought a new CD in ages. Ever since I started trading, I don't buy music anymore. There is so much live material out of there of all the artists I love that I don't really need to buy CDs. Kinda nice actually......

I don't bother with trading. The Fleetwood Mac and Tom Petty shows all sound pretty much the same to me. So the few I have are plenty as far as I'm concerned.
The only studio release I've bought recently is "Music for Dangerous Activities" by a group called Surf Nation. It's all instrumental, or "instro-metal" as they refer to it.
I pretty much have all of the official releases from the artists I love the most (Egan, Buckingham, Petty) so I'm just waiting for the next thing. I know Petty's got something coming soon, Egan just went into the studio, and Buckingham? I'm not holding my breath. And there aren't any new artists that interest me enough to waste $15-$20 to buy a cd.

I just got new Foo Fighters and new Kelly Clarkson (bite me, bitches.) Before that, I can't recall the last CD I bought. Oh wait, I got the new System of a Down for hubby. I think my last purchase was Loretta Lynn "Van Lear Rose".

That album deserves a couple . You'll often find me bursting out with "High on a mountain top, the rest just seems like an itty bitty spot" or "I'm gonna call myself a long, pink limousine" at random points throughout the day. Love that damned thing, one of my favorites.

Dude, I can't remember the last CD I bought. I think it was either Nico's Chelsea Girl or Anna Nalick's Wreck of the Day. And that was a while ago. :x

I personally enjoy "I didn't come to fight, if he was a better man I might, but I wouldn't dirty my hands, on trash like you."

No blobs for Kelly Clarkson, Diss?

I'm gonna grab her by her ponytail, I'm gonna sling her around and around...

Or, my favorite:

Hey Leroy Brown! How do you like my big ole pink limo?
I just drawed all your money out of the bank today
Honey, you don't have no mo'!

Fug no. She needs to sing, not scream and shout. Her voice will be shot in five years if she keeps it up.

I have most of the material released from my favorites, too. I don't have any interest in newer artists, either. I have a decent collection of Tom Petty boots. I wouldn't say they all sound the same though. And he does alot of cool covers, which is a nice little suprise. San Fransisco at the Filmore 1997 is my favorite frm Petty. Wacky setlist

Exclamation Ordered the new...

Chris Caffery disc "W.A.R.P.E.D." from his website for $12 (Included shipping) which was autographed personally to me ("War is Hell Brian Johnson"...Mr.Caffery isn't one of these types to have an assistant sign their name in place of his.)

Also picked up a few discs last night (Not new releases) but they're new to me:

Helloween-"Rabbit Don't Come Easy" (Import version)

Megadeth-"Cryptic Writings-Special Limited Edition" (2 disc set "Previously Unavailable in the U.S.")

Dont know why, But the more I try to listen to the US rock radio stations the more I bury myself in hard rock/Euro-metal...Most of the new bands are thrown against the all to see if they stick, But they usually fall to the ground in pieces.

...Nice....I picked up Rhapsody's new one. Never really got into the metal/opera thing but it's not bad, and it's got a great story to it.

I forgot I recently picked up the new Heart boxset. I was a little dissapointed with it though. There was hardly any unreleased material. There live version of Stairway to Heaven was pretty cool.
