Just got in from Denver. Working on pics & a review. Sorry for all the false hype, guys! The notice about filming was taped to the sign at the main entrance. I asked a guy in a "venue supervisor" shirt standing at the front of the stage if the show was being taped and he said "Yes, that's what they told me" . Maybe he thought I meant for the video screens or something. It's possible part of it was taped as newsreel footage from the soundbooth area (there were photographers there from the Denver Post, so it was getting some media coverage), but there's no way this was filmed for any kind of professional release. Bummer. As soon as I saw there were no cameras mounted on mechanical arms or anywhere around the stage, I tried to call Marissa again but I couldn't get reception inside the venue. I did notice Cory walking around with a videocamera recording fans before & during the show though (I got in her shots a few times). Don't know if that was a personal thing for her or for Stevie or whatever. The talk of a special appearance had to do with radio stations hyping a surprise guest all week. Apparently, nobody told them Vanessa Carlton was opening for Stevie . So anyway, it was pretty much a run of the mill stop on the tour.

I know that there are alot of Lindsey fans out there, having said that, I was at that AHI benefit for the acustic Gypsy (which yes is the greatest ), but lindsey was not the only one playing!! Both CARLOS, and WADDY were also playing alongside lindsey. It was a really nice moment of several stevie gitarist over acouple of generations playing together. Please dont forget the other two did their part. Don't mind me, Im still bitter from when I met Fleetwood Mac at the SYW AHI, and when I said to lindsy " Lindsy< Man you rock!" All he did was kinda raise his one eyebrow, and give me a look like "YES, I KNOW".
Sorry the pic is so blurry, if I even get it loaded, I am still new to all this

I don't have time to read this whole thread but I skimmed it and LOL. At least there were some good reviews.

Phoenix, seriously? That blows! Someone's full of himself..

I am sorry that you had a bad experience meeting Lindsey. Maybe he just did not hear what you said to him. I am sorry but that does not sound like him at all. I have met him several times and he is always very nice and gracious. I know quite a few people who have met him and will say the same thing. I do think that he his kind of shy and a bit socially retarded. He did seem that way to me that night, anyway.

The person who gave me a snippy attitude at the SYW AHI benefit was actually Stevie. I chose not to attend this year.

The whole videotaping thing was a mess. I'm thinking maybe for a RR compliation video or cd....they do sell those on the website and gift store. We shall see....
That's what I was thinking.

Have to say, I am so sick of all the mystery surrounding Stevie - not her personally, but her career/work.
When I see and read about how so many rock stars are so open about their plans with their fans, will communicate with them, film concerts or music and make them available... Dave Matthews probably stands head and shoulders above the rest in being accessible to his audience... it frustrates me. Stevie KNOWS that she has this incredible following, and instead of acknowledging it by communicating with us, she basically ignores us. Why not release some concert footage, why not get on board and chat occasionally....?
(If anyone has followed the TV series Lost and checked out The Fuselage, you'll understand how producers and actors communicate with their audience, and they are simply amazing!)
I'm (reluctantly) starting to wonder if Stevie's comments about "loving" her fans is no more than lip service...

The After-Party

Well, I headed out with Janine to the after party at Kincaid’s. We were the first ones in there. We saw the area where the photos would be taken. We sit in a booth right in front of the area but it was facing the other way. I was not that excited about getting my photo with the band. I hate getting my photo taken. About a half hour later Jess Nicks was speaking but I could not hear a word that he said. I could see Mick and Lindsey at the door. I tried to take a few photos. Then the whole band heads over to the photo area. I was trying to take photos but I did not have that much film left. I was not too happy. I should have taken more with me. I am in shock because the whole band is right there almost right in front of me. I looked over at Lindsey and he looked like he was thrilled to be there .His face kind of changed and he smiled when he spotted me. I did not make eye contact with him at all the rest of the night. Jan and Christie were sitting next to us. We had plans to take their pictures when they went up and then they would take ours when it was our turn.
Jan and Christie go up and get their photo taken with the band. I try to take their photo. Janine and I finally decide to go up now. We get in the roped off area and this mean guy says to us” THAT’S IT NO MORE PHOTOS!!!” Janine tells the mean guy that we paid for this and we did not get our photos. A few people in back of me are complaining that they did not get theirs either. The mean guy did not care. Finally the guy says OK this is the last one. I notice that my cover-up lace top has come undone. I did not have time to fix it because we just got shoved into the photo area. Janine goes in front of me and heads toward Stevie. I see John McVie to my left and he says “hi”. I just say a friendly “hello” to him. He seemed really nice. I wish that I had more time to talk to him. I go and try to hug Stevie. I just go up to her like I am at an Italian wedding. LOL. She kind of puts her are around me and she asks (I think the mean guy) “is this the last one” I was like um gee Stevie thanks for saying HI. NOT!! So we pose for our 2 photos and I have my arm around Stevie. I really hope that I did not have my hand where it did not belong. After she said thanks for coming and nice to meet you. I just said yeah-OK thank you. I was not too happy with the whole Stevie meeting.
Then it happened!! This was the big one. I saw Lindsey standing there and he looked a little lost. I wanted to say hello after all of the interaction that I have had with him on stage on this tour. I had no idea what to say to him and I had no idea what he would think. He might run away from me.
Well, I was one step from getting kicked out of the area so I was quick. This all happened so fast but I will never forget it.
I went up to him and just said a friendly, casual “Hi”. Well, he looked around to see who said hi and when he saw me that was it. He looked at me like I was an angel that just came down from heaven. He had a surprised look on his face and his mouth opened. His blue eyes were just looking at me and he was frozen and just speechless. His eyes sparkled and he was kind of smiling and his mouth was kind of half open. LOL I think that he was totally shocked that I said Hi to him and I was so casual about it. He seemed like he was star-struck. I wanted to say ‘hey I should be looking at you like this”. Well, I was so freaked out by his reaction that I did not say anything else. He wouldn’t have heard a word that I said anyway. I was being thrown out of the area, too.
I can just see the 2 of us staring into each other’s blue eyes; LOL That’s something that I will never forget

Sorry to hear you had such a disappointing encounter with Stevie, Pattie.
It seems that most people have good interactions with her, and she's typically gracious and friendly. Really sucks that you had to be one of the rare unlucky ones.
