Default Please Read: ISO drawing or sketching of “motorcycle angel” art

Very recently my father, at age 49, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. I am 27 years old. The last few weeks have been full of nothing but shock and total sadness. Being very close to my father the loss tends to be unbearable at times.

Earlier in life he decided when he passed away he wanted to be cremated. At this point now, I am on a mission. My dad's surviving family members (step mom, brother, and I) have decided to split up his ashes so a part of him will be close to any of us at all times. I have decided to go with a wood cremation urn and have it custom engraved. The design I want I do not have a photo of. I am looking for a motorcycle with an angel riding it. My dad was into his Harley and absolutely loved going for rides on beautiful days. I love the concept of him being my "guardian angel" and since I will have a part of him I want a visual symbolic memorial.

The problem is, I haven't found a design or graphic online that stands out as being special to me. Most angels on motorcycle designs I have found have been small pin style objects which lack detail and some unrecognizable and gaudy. I want the angel to be enwrapped in heavenly colors (oranges, browns, pinks, and blues) and the motorcycle to be simple and colorless.

Would any of you know of a person or a particular type of service I can contact to get something like this sketched up? The concept is very important to me and I want to pay tribute to my father who was a wonderful man.

I haven't purchased an urn yet but the links below will connect to styles of interest I have found on ebay.

Please either reply to this post or PM me if you know of anyone or service who could be of assistance.

Thank you soo much!!! Fleetwood Mac music is helping me to get through this very emotional time.

I am so sorry to hear about your dad.

Theresa (bikerchic) is a Harley gal - maybe she knows someone. I'll email her & tell her to make sure she reads your thread.

I'm so sorry about your Dad, I wish I could help with this search. You could try Joanna Pieterman through the nicksfix. Her art is gorgeous and maybe she could do this for you. A Google Image search brought this up although it doesn't sound quite like what you are looking for.

I'm sorry about your dad. Blessings to you and your family. This might sound strange, (wait, do you want the wood engraving to also be colored? I mean, you said you wanted colors on the engraving, right?) anyway, like I said, strange, but a good tattoo artist would probably be able to draw it, and they would work with you right there to make it how you want it. You could pay them for their drawing time. Otherwise I might suggest going to a small graphic artists studio...I know, the tattoo artist sounds strange, but most can draw really well, and are nice and helpful. and fairly cheap.

I am so sorry to hear about your dad. Amber's idea about the tattoo artist is excellent. They have alot of experience with drawing motocycle's and angel's! I will think about it also. There is a couple of bike artist's featured in the mag "Easy Rider's", I will check that and ask around and e-mail all my biker friend's if they know of anyone/anything. Is there a rush for this?

Regard's, Theresa

Default Thank You

Thank you all for your sympathy, I am going crazy and it is nice to know that people care. About the design, I like the idea of contacting a tattoo artist, hopefully I would be able to explain to him/her what is in my head.

Theresa, I am going to look up that magazine you mentioned to see what I find. As for timeframe, yeah, unfornuately I need this as soon as possible. That is adding to my craziness. I feel rushed and that is a horrible thing to add into grief. Let me know if you receive any responses from your biker buds.

Thanks again all.
The angel above is nice but as you predicted SuzeQuze it doesn't work for what I am needing. However, it might be a good idea to print it out on photo paper and frame it to sit next to the urn.
