Default Guess what my mom got me!!!!!!!

I was so excited about this. Because recent events have disturbed me so, I've been trying to take a Ledge hiatus, but when I got my little present today, I knew I couldn't stay away. I had to share this with y'all. Besides, the Chris forum is kind of its own little world set apart from the drama of other forums.

I'm sure this doesn't sound like a big deal to others, but I've never owned any FM related records until now. My mom went to a few antique stores around Louisiana today, and when she came home, she had a bag for me. I didn't even realize where she'd been so I was surprised when I looked in and saw the Christine McVie 1984 LP. She said she'd found it for a dollar at some dude's place. Here's the dialogue.

storeowner dude: "Looking for anything in particular?"
my mom: "A Stevie Nicks or Fleetwood Mac album or something like that."
(she goes to look through the collection of records he's selling and find the Chris one, then goes to the counter)
storeowner dude: "So you said you were looking for Stevie Nicks?"
my mom: "Yes, but also..." (puts the record on the counter)
storeowner dude: "Oh, but you found Christine! Even better!"

(I thought you'd love that little dialogue, Homie).

I'm so excited! I don't have very many FM related items that aren't CDs. In fact, this is my second somewhat unique item. I have a Wild Heart folder that I have displayed on my desk and now I can put Chris next to it!

I just had to share that.

How awesome, lovie!

Vinyls are my favorite to collect. The cover art is soooo big! They are very nice for wall hangings or displaying them on shelves. Enjoy your new collectible!

That's great, Hillary!

I love vinyls. My copy of Christine's 1984 album got lost when I moved though. Damn movers.

I was at a record show, probably around 1988 or so. It was VERY early in my fandom. I knew about the 1984 solo album. My mom came up to me and said that one of the vendors has an album by Christine McVie that I might be interested in. I told my mom that I knew about it, that she was playing piano on a mountain on the cover. My mom said that wasn't the cover. In fact, it was a picture of Christine sitting in a whicker chair, with a pink boarder. That night was the first time I'd ever heard Christine sing the blues!

I would have simply died if it had been the Christine Perfect vinyl. OMG. Cool story!

Now, I like that guy! Congratulations, Hillary! Do you have a turntable? Are you going to actually play it?

I LOVE vinyl. I've got 2 copies each of both of Christine's first 2 solo albums. By the way, you can get the Legendary Christine Perfect album on vinyl on eBay. It's not really very uncommon to see them & the price is usually very reasonable.

I also think of the Chris forum as a little world unto itself on the Ledge.

I don't have one so I guess it's just for show right now.

Cool! I'll have to look into that. That one has the greatest cover art, I think.
