Hell, Growing up I had my bedroom from floor-boards to ceiling completely covered in Iron Maiden memorabilia (Even the ceiling as covered), I still own a bit of that stuff for nostalgic reasons.

That is SOOO funny!!! I almost put Alabama, too, but I thought to myself, "everyone's gonna think you're a redneck if you list Alabama!"

I know his music is great for what it is. I just... listening to old school country was a big step for me, and although now it's my favorite genre- I have a hard time coming to terms with new country. Although I do love Gretchen.
his music IMHO is more rock than actually country...I dont consider him "new-country" at all. He is primed for a major crossover to rock (His concerts are "rock shows", plain/pure and simple...I'm sure Wondergirl/Christy will concur with me, I kinda turned her on to KU awhiles back.)

Little bit of lovin' on the Mason Dixon line......
I've seen Alabama 4 times, and Restless Heart twice. RH are SUCH a talented band! If Larry Stewart only hadn't gotten the big head, and jumped ship at their peak. He's back now, of course. The band now tells a story about his solo career, then says, "now, we're going to do Larry's medley of hit!" Get it, singular!

I remember Larry's song, but I can't think of the name. It must not have been very good.

"Alright Already". His first three solo albums were good. The fourth one though, he got with Michael Omartian (Christopher Cross), who tried to turn him into adult contemporary. That's when he came back to Restless Heart. Their sound is still incredible. All you Ledgies wanna hear some REAL harmonies, check out Restless Heart's 5 part harmonies. Put's our beloved Mac's harmonies to shame.

Oh, yeah. I think I remember the video - wasn't he playing guitar on a bed or something?

I was really into country groups for awhile. Restless Heart, Alabama, Sawyer Brown, etc.

Me too, I had a huge absence from FM. From about 1990-2000. Restless Heart and Alabama were played daily! OH! I forgot about Diamond Rio! But it seems like the country bands(much like FM) have been replaced by all the pretty bands(Urban,Rascal Flatts{I can't stand RF} etc)....

I listed to country a lot from 1990-1995. I still listed to FM but figured we'd never hear from them again. I can't stand Rascal Flatts, either.

Rascal Flatts singer is very talented, but HE HASN'T GOT A COUNTRY NOTE IN HIS BODY!!!!! He's singing R&B, new style, with all the little vocal inflections that everyone uses now, squeezing 20 notes into every word sang. It's craptacular, and it sure ain't country! Rant off now. I now, believe it or not, when not listening to FM, listen to old country like Hank Sr, Bob Wills, Ernest Tubb, etc...

It was NICE sharing these country thoughts with you!

Gotta mow now....

Yep, a HUGE thanks to Brian for bringing up Keith here so I could become a die-hard fan.

Rock....fo sho! Yes, he was heavily influenced by country artists, but he was also influenced by Lindsey, FM, Mark Knopfler, AC/DC, CCR among a trazillion others. I love that Keith loves all types of music. I believe he once said, "There is no bad music, there's music you like, and music you don't."

BTW, ya'll are mentioning some of my faves here! Journey, Dolly Parton, BSB, N'Sync, Debbie Gibson.

Sharon, hon, that's cool if he's not your type physically, but you should listen to some clips of his music. It's a great rock/country mix. He will blow you away in concert, he's amazing on the guitar, headbangs and his voice is strong too.
