Bands you like....But maybe shouldn't....

I got the weirdest look at work when Ace of Base came on the system and I said I liked them. (The fact I knew who they were got the looks I think). Who do you like that gets a double take?

[skcin]

ABBA

Neil Diamond

Milli Vanilli before the scandal

I like Ace of Base....have their first album. I'm not ashamed of any bands/singers I like. I get weird looks for liking FM, The Monkees, boy bands and Justin Guarini. I wore this N'Sync shirt the other day and got some double-takes. LOL It's a cute shirt with them as cartoons.

Whatevah.

I know there are many Brittany Spears haters but damn I love her. Not so much her but her last album is still in my CD player.

I like some Britney tunes, with Stronger being a fave. I only own her first album, no GH or anything. I will probably go get Stronger and a few others off iTunes since I have some credit.

Don't care for her as a person, especially after her marriage to Cletus, but some of her songs are pretty fun. I did hear some of her "singing" on the radio after some HBO special or something and YOWZA...stick to the lip-synching, PLEASE.

I am guilty of keeping Ace of Base on the radio when they come on

Lets see...I get weird looks for:

Dolly Parton - why? She is awesome!!!

[HomerMcvie]

Hall and Oates
Journey
Restless Heart

[chiliD]

70's "Progressive Rock" bands (such as: ELP, Yes, King Crimson I, Gentle Giant, Nektar, Synergy, Triumvirat, PFM, early Genesis, Procol Harum, etc)

Just last night... out with some friends.. and Kelly Clarkson came on. "My guilty pleasure," I said. The whole table went quiet.

But I confess... also to liking N'Synch and the Backstreet Boys.

[skcin]

^ LOVE Kelly Clarkson!

Backstreet & N Sync not so much

My girlfriend in HS loved Neil Diamond. We always made fun of her, and told her only 40yo HOUSEWIVES listen to Neil!

White Stripes. Gawd, they're bad, but some of their stuff is addicting.

I got weird looks when I bought Loretta Lynn's last album last year, and every time I browse the country section, I can see people staring at me as if I'm pissing on the CDs. I get laughs when someone is with me and I play Bette Midler in my car. Don't know why they laugh, I'm usually playing The Rose soundtrack and it kicks ass.

I never got the memo either.

Can't wait to see him in August!

well, i tend to be steeped in deep shame whenever any of the classic stadium rock guys come on and I have to sing. But - I submit - The wheel in the sky does keep on turnin, and that's more than a feeling, guys - more than a feeling.
