I was way too young to remember this, but I know that Fleetwood Mac had to cancel some shows because of Stevie's voice. Was it alot? thats what I heard

It was about two or three weeks' worth in March. Stevie's throat was in bad shape for the band's first show (Feb. 28 in Berkeley), so the situation got bad enough to have to postpone shows in the following weeks in Texas, Arkansas, Alabama, Oklahoma & other Deep South states.

thats interesting that it wouldve been bad for the first show. I wonder if there was a carryover from the '76 tour?

On the July 3rd Buffalo show I have from the rumours tour, before landslide she says something to the effect of, "Im so glad my voice is back". So maybe this illness carried over to some shows in the spring. I don't remember her sounding too hot on the soundboard nashville show from 77.

I don't think it was illness, per se, so much as it was nodules on her cords, which continued to flare up off & on for several years. In those days before a Fleetwood Mac concert, people used to constantly talk about whether Stevie's voice would be any good for the upcoming show.

I guess, to an extent, they still do!

Well im not surprised. Rhiannon in those days turned into a screamfest. I am not surprised she damaged her chords on how she was singing with that song. I mean it was great to hear a rocking performance like that, but she really screamed! lol.

There were a few shows I saw in 1976 where they'd skip "Landslide" because of Stevie's earlier rousing rendition of "Rhiannon". The weird thing was, instead of just skipping the song, they (either Chris or John...yes, JOHN!) had to make a big announcement that they weren't going to play the song because of her voice (or lack thereof).

Yeah, it's pretty apparent that it starts going during Rhiannon (even in the middle, but esp. the ending) at this show.

Didn't Stevie take Robin along as her "voice therapist" on tour? I remember something about Stevie not knowing the correct way to sing, so she ended up just shreading her voice. Listening to her Rhiannon from those days makes it clear how hard she was pushing her voice. I think it might have been in either an interview or a book that discussed what therapies she used to help her voice while on tour.

Here's a thought. They should have switched the order and put Landslide before Rhiannon.
