Default Question about Mirage DVD cover

I went to ebay to see about a Mirage DVD (my VHS is kinda choppy in parts)
and I noticed the covers for the Mirage DVD out of Brazil had the post-Lindsey lineup, which made me scared he wasnt on the DVD...what's up with the funky cover pic? Why not use the Mirage LP cover for the picture?

Just a mix up. It's exactly like the video.

Yeah, Curtis is right. It IS the Mirage video, only whoever did it didn't even know enough to know that he had the wrong band on the cover. I give the quality a B(in other words, it's well worth it, until they get around to reissuing the real deal). My first DVD skipped, and he happily sent me a second one, free of charge, without returning the first one.

It's just the wrong picture on the cover.

I believe it was made in Brazil. The closed captioning sure is a hoot.

Wink

Because bootleggers in other countries can be kinda dense when it comes to stuff like that.

The (DVD) version I have is not *exactly* the same as the old video copy... the DVD seems to have been edited -- they removed almost all of the speeches (there weren't many -- basically just Lindsey doing his usual Mirage Tour speech -- "People thought we might have broken up, but we're here to show you we're still doin' it! (cue Mick's little drum kick.) :P

It's kinda annoying to watch it on DVD because of this -- I like hearing all the little speeches -- they're what make it a real concert.

Yes I agree. I believe even THE DANCE edit is different from VHS format to DVD. If I remember correctly, on the Dance during tracks #2 (Dreams) at the time 8:37 to 8:40 when Lindsey does that little high note riff........on the VHS version it's a very close up shot of his guitar. On the DVD, it pans out and shows Lindsey from the waist up.

Default quality

Could someone comment on the picture quality for me, I am considering buying. Is this thing just a transfer from the vhs, can you see any lines. I have to wonder about the source since if it was really "authorized" I would think they would use the source tape...
I just wish it was truly re-released!
deleted songs wouldn't hurt either

I would honestly say the picture quality was average. I think it could have been cleaned up a bit better. The sound quality is also average. They tried to mix it for 5.1, but they were working probably off a two channel mix so it just doesnt work. I for one, would like to see this show finally released on CD.

For me, the colors are a little too rich. The blues and greens seem a little too intense. And I (although no one has backed me up on this) hear a high pitched hiss during the whole thing.
BUT, I think I only paid like $12 total, AND my VHS tape is worn out, so it definitely IS worth $12, especially since the real deal is nowhere in sight.

Why would they redo Tango, instead of Mirage? Dumb.
