Just read Lake of Dead Languages by Carol Goodman. I recently discovered her books & I've been reading them one by one.

Currently reading The Money Book for The Young, Fabulous & Broke by Suze Orman. Loving it! She's so damn cool.

and

The Ice Queen, Alice Hoffmann's new one.

I'm currently reading The Practice of Perfection by Robert Aitken. Before that, it was Not Always So by Shunryu Suzuki, and Your Money or Your Life by Vicki Robin & Joe Dominguez.

I'm reading John Stewart's America (The Book): A Citizen's Guide to Democracy Inaction. It's laid out like a text book with a foreword from Jefferson. It's laced with innuendo and sophomoric wit, very silly. I'm enjoying it. BJs had it on sale. One funny thing I remember was he had a suggested class project: Give the students a veto card. When anything they don't want to do comes up, e.g. a test or homework, they can use the card. See how much sh*t gets done.

I'm also still reading the Suze Orman book that Paula mentioned. I took a break from it while I had a backsliding spending spree. Spring fever I guess but I'm back on track.

America? Funniest.Book.Ever I actually haven't even gotten all the way through it, but what I have read cracked me up. Have you gotten to the "match the robe with the Supreme Court Justice" part yet? Classic.

Haha, no, but I saw that page when I was flipping through it in BJs. My Mom was like, "I'm all set with that." O Magazine had a good interview with him and she said to buy the book and I do what she says. Okay, I also happen to love that smarmy little SOB! Hehe.

As always, two books at the same time:

Sense & Sensibility - Jane Austen

Luck In The Shadows - Lynn Flewelling

Brilliant book! Along with Dave Barry's Dave Barry Hits Below The Beltway and P.J. O'Rourke's Parliament of Whores, a great primer for anyone who wants to understand government without being bored to tears.

I also just finished Skinny Dip. Good to see that Skink is alive and (relatively) well.

I'm reading a series of books that were at my friend's house the night I got locked out. It's like...the history and views of a bunch of stuff. I started with Cosmic Connections, which was the history and views on astrology, and included info. Next I did the "Monsters" one, which went through all the stuff about Loch Ness, Yetis, Bigfoot in the pacific Northwest, and various other repeated sightings of strange creatures. That one was good. Now I'm doing...UFO's? Yeah, I just started that one. Anyway, I really like them, lots of good info and pictures. The other ones are like...Healing Powers, Ghosts and Stuff (not called that, though) and Psychic Powers. Score, since my friend hardly has any books in her house and rarely reads.

I finally finished The Demon-Haunted World a couple weeks ago, now I'm reading The Dragons of Eden also by Carl Sagan.

How is it? She's one of my favorites. Although I read one book of hers that was soooooo meandering. I think it was called...."Do with me what you will" or something.
