Default bootlegs

Back in 1997, this magazine called Wynnco listed about 30 or so soundboard recordings of Fleetwood Mac from Rumours, Tusk, and Mirage. they were from this soundboard tech that was retiring from the business and wanted to get rid of his stuff. I got my magaszine and IMMIDEATELY called Wynnco to buy all the shows. It wouldve cost me like 500 but it would have been worth it. Unfortunately, when I called, ALL the shows were already sold. To this day, I have never seen any of these shows surface anywhere. Does anyone know anything about this, or have any of these shows?

A few I saw on another trader's want list, were St. Louis '82 (I want!), Kyoto, Japan '80, and Brisbane, Australia '80. I'd love to find a copy of that catalog just to see what they were selling then.

Back in 1991 - my senior year in high school - I got a Wynnco catalog, and selected about a dozen Stevie memorabilia items that I wanted for Christmas. I really don't even remember what any of them were, except that they were promotional type items. I rememember going to my parents and saying, 'This is what I want and I will treasure them forever.' I remember my total order coming to three hundred and sixty five dollars.

Instead I got a four hundred dollar leather coat that was promptly stolen from me at school two weeks into January.

My mom was so pissed....

Yes, I remember that. But I remember it as predating 1997. Wynnco offered a big list of "soundboards" for sale around 1993 or '94. It was mostly bogus. I even bought a few shows -- shows that I already had as audience recordings (the two Madison Square Garden concerts in 1977) -- & they were the same recordings! I thought something was fishy about that list in the catalog because it tended to match the list of audience recordings in circulation, with a couple of exceptions.

If there were any actual soundboards among that group, I am unaware of it. When later shenanigans occurred involving authentic soundboards, I seriously wondered whether the Wynnco catalog list had something to do with these occurrences -- sort of "testing the ground" for interest. It's just a hypothesis of mine. Incidentally, none of the later soundboards were listed in that original catalog, AFAIK.

I will try to dig up the actual Wynnco catalog with that list & post it here.

Wichita? Why do you want Wichita? What year?

There's probably a Wichita soundboard from the Rumours tour since there's something from it on the "Fleetwood Mac Live" album. But the 1980 Wichita show is probably also around because I think just about all those August shows were recorded by the band.

Well I know quite a few people who attended both Wichita shows '75 and '80, And I live there so I think it would be something cool to have. Its high on my list. Actaully its top priority for me!

Wink

As a collector of Mac rarities, I can honestly say there are very VERY few soundboards that are worth having. Even the Dance tour stuff is somewhat lackluster.

I'll take the soundboards over the audience recordings anyday. I can't listen to most of the audience recordings. If I can hear people talking all over it, I just can't listen.
