He was one of the best things about The Aviator, actually. If it weren't for him, Cate Blanchett, and Jude Law's ultra sexy mustache, it would have been utterly unwatchable.

I still cannot believe you did not like The Aviator. I thought it was brilliant even if DiCaprio looked too young for the part. I thought when he locked in the rushes room and went nuts, he was sublime.

Also, please tell me you have seen "Bubble Boy" --- The Swooz (Swoosie "I had a pair of binoculars and was a horny hoe in Tales of the City" Kurtz) stamping those Jesus cookies and every other scene she was in was just FAB.

Fech, I thought it was crap. Oscar bait of the highest order. With the exception of a few movies (especially After Hours), I think Scorsese is overrated. He's mostly either mediocre (Age of Innoncence) or foul (Gangs of New York). The Aviator was bland, it had bad pacing, some of the casting was atrocious (DiCaprio and Kate Beckinsale!), and it was such a whitewash of Howard Hughes that it was pretty laughable in certain places, most notably the ending where he flew his plane. Scorsese never makes mention of the fact that it was the only time the plane ever flew and that it only flew for just over a mile. From what's known about Howard Hughes, DiCaprio didn't embody him in the least. He played him as a petulant child from the get-go and not only was it grating, but it showed that he doesn't have much of a range. The fact that he's built like twelve year old and looks like one, too, didn't help. No thanks!

Years ago when it first came out. All I remember about it was the kid traveling to see his girlfriend or someone while encased in a plastic bubble.
