Nothing beats "You say it will be harder in the morning," folks. Poor thing, her lover can't get it up and she has to depend on his morning woody for satisfaction.

I think maybe it has something to do with not seeing the light of day because of living the "up all night sleep all day (that's right)" rock star lifestyle. And I'm not looking for a definition of going down, although that is likely coming, so to speak. ![]()

I love to hear Stevie say that lol. Then what I also thought was that it doesn't make much sense because when the sun rises it obviously goes up, not down. So it obviously has some hidden meaning that we will probably never know (and I love her for this, that mystery!). Since the song does allude to cocaine use it could have something to do with being up all night partying and then coming down (from the drugs) when the sun rises in the morning? Just a random guess... |

This isn't dirty, but to me it's humorous. In college my twisted roomate Chris liked TOSOTM but also loved to poke fun at Stevie. He decided that 'Doing The Best I Can (Escape From Berlin)' was about her gaining enormous amounts of weight. I guess the "I'm trying hard to change..." part convinced him maybe, I'm not sure. But anyway, remember the part towards the fadeout where she goes "well I paid!...well I paid!..."? He'd repeat that part but he'd do it sort of bent over with his butt pushed out and his arms pointing to both sides of it, and he'd keep saying "I paid...I paid..." Like in other words, the price I paid for my excesses is my big backyard.
In that same demented weight-gain vein, he would pantomine Stevie eating chicken and throwing the bones over her shoulder and licking her fingers during the part of 'Cry Wolf' where she sings "You just had to try those wings..." As I said, Chris was a sick puppy. Gotta love him. ![]() |

Ok I found a few, and hopefully these haven't been posted yet
"you fall to your knees, you embrace the storm" "Call out my name..." "The lonliness of a one night stand, it's hard to take" "Do I love you, well I always did ....every night" "With hands as quick as light" <--highwayman "You were so strong, I fell to my knees" "Come back...little boy" Ew? "Well, you used to love to be behind those walls with her" Somebody Stand By Me: "You'd think by now I'd know when to let go" "I'm not bending tonight" "I'm not giving in 'til I've had enough" Ok I'm gonna stop now lol |
