Sorry to wait so long, some stuff has come up. All this has pretty much been said anyway! We'll start out with my personal trauma, then you can skip down to the bolded SHOW if you don't want to read all that.

Tuesday, I got up at 4:00am to make my 7:00 flight. Unfortunately, after going about 30 miles, I realized that I'd forgotten my medication. I had to return for it, booked it to the airport, got to the desk at 6:45, where they told me too bad, sucker. Did you know that you can't board a flight less than 30 minutes before it leaves, even if it's still sitting there? So, I missed my flight! After a few moments of panic, I was booked on a later flight and made it. The good news is that Kristin (gypsyrhiannon) got to upgrade to first row as I tried to zoom to get ready after arriving three hours later than planned.

Now, the show. Most of this has been done already, so I'll try to inject some stuff I haven't seen (although I haven't read all the threads). These are not necessarily in order nor comprehensive.

It was well worth it, and if all you naysayers could have been there, you totally would have agreed. The audience was very responsive and Stevie looked lovely - I agree with those who think she's lost weight, although it's amazing how much thinner one looks in a flattering outfit even if one hasn't lost a great deal of weight. I loved that she wore leg warmers over her boots. It made them look much less fugly. No, she didn't do as much with the screens or costume changes as I thought she would, but what she did do I appreciated. I also thoroughly enjoyed the less-heard songs.

I loved the cool dance remix of Dreams that played before she came out. It was a new vocal by her - maybe it's planned to be released? Unless they used the Dance vocal. I couldn't tell.

She asked us to sing along to Landslide (but strangely not everybody did! Not like the SYW tour). I found it odd that she didn't dedicated it to anyone, but perhaps that was just an oversight, as she dedicated the song every other night.

I thought Stand Back rocked the house, although others disagree. This was the first time she had her hair up ala Sara (but no twirl). It could be my inherent love for SB colored my adoration of her performance here. I just know that everyone in the audience was moving to that song.

GDW was perhaps the "low point," if you can call it that, during such an awesome show. Her howl was bleh - the "AH AH AH" that gets rather old fast. I did like the GDW ad-lib "running for her life."

In the band intros, she introduced Carlos as her "fourth bird of Rhiannon" - lol! He did not seem to appreciate it.

In BATB, she changed "timeless is the creature" to "timeless is the teacher." At first I wondered if this was deliberate, but odds are it wasn't, as she didn't do it again.

Personal note: She grabbed both of Kristin's hands during Edge! Very cool!

I know everyone has emphasized how magnificent Beauty and the Beast was. Let me add my voice to the others and say it was absolutely staggering. First, it was a brilliant use of the screens, the only time they really got utilized to their full extent. Floor to ceiling, they showed segments of the old movie Beauty and the Beast, and at one point the actress is running towards the camera. At that point, Stevie comes out from the shadows, like she's emerging from the movie, almost. She strode like a queen, wearing that amazing outfit that you've all seen photos and video of. The entire place was completely silent as she sang, and she was totally into the mood of it. Her vocal strength was terrific - the song was so powerful. She would pause, hold her hand to her face... motions that on others would appear melodramatic but on her appeared striking and moving. And I didn't even like this song previously. Well, now I sure do. The experience was worth it just for that.

she certainly was the queen that night. tuesday's performance was so perfect. maybe it was more perfect because i was standing at her feet, or maybe because there were no idiots screaming at her, but it was a once (or twice if you count wednesday's show) in a lifetime performance.
