Exclamation Goober

Goober is kinda like a nerd. LOL I call lots of people goober...I used to think it was a Southern word, but I think it's found it's way to ya'll Yanks too.

Goober: Kelly Clarkson (listening to her right now) has described herself as a goober. One of the characters from the Andy Griffith Show was named Goober...he's a dorky guy.

Anybody else ever see that Andy Griffith episode? Wasn't that Goober who said/did that?

Uh, based on the above, I'd definitely say I'm a dork/goob!

I guess I'm one of those semi-active Ledgies. I usually only get on the Ledge at work, and I'm constantly called away. Damn work And I lose threads a lot, too. Ah well, it's still fun to be here, though.

And if we ever did get that private Ledgie concert, can you imagine the hella fight there would be over those front few rows????

Arrow Anyone...

Have you seen the movie, Trekkies? It's funny and kind of interesting. Watching it, you want to laugh at those people, but deep inside, we all have our obsessions, we just deal with them in different ways. The dentist with his office decked out in ST stuff was hilarious!

Good point. Sometimes I'm afraid to jump in on a conversation, which of course is retarded b/c it's a forum. But, you know.

It's kind of like cold water. I just jumped in. Luckily, I only lurked for like, five seconds before I said something. In that way, I didn't really know that everyone already knew each other, really, before I started talking. At first, lots of people ignored me, but not everyone. Jump right in!

I know what you mean! I kind of keep up with this place well in spurts, if that makes sense. If I have a lot going on at school, then I really can't keep up with more than a few threads. Sometimes I just have to let things pass me by. But when I'm on vacation or things are slow at school (rare thing there), I get to be addictive and ridiculous. The fact that you don't have time to keep up with everything basically means that you have a life, and that's a good thing!

I love talking to all the same people because I feel like I get to know them better that way. Of course, in real life I prefer only being around a few people at a time, and that's only if it's impossible to just be one on one. But, on the other hand, I like it when the lurkers come out to add to the conversations here.

I wish this place were a big, teeming cauldron of hundreds of different conversations & conversationalists -- with 45 different cliques of various sizes all mixing & swimming around like tadpoles in a brackish mountain lake.
Well, if some people could pipe down for a second & not post 800 times a day, not mentioning any names...

That was a little frightening.....I saw that. Did you see the kid with the Shuttlecraft car? He was like 14 or so. He showed up on a game show years later called "Beat the Geeks" as .. you guessed it .... The star trek Geek!
