OMG I totally forgot that part, but THAT is what totally pushed me over the edge into knowing I couldn't go through with it. I pictured myself going through the vows and couldn't see myself saying them! I was certain that at that moment in the ceremony in front of all those people my throat would close and I wouldn't be ble to speak!

I kinda thought that would be really crappy for him too!

Here is a take on the psychological component of this kind of situation:

http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/04/30/wil...und/index.html

Wilbanks and Mason were set to be married Saturday. The wedding was to be a huge bash, with some 600 invited guests and a wedding party of 14 bridesmaids and 14 groomsmen.

I feel for the fiance because I bet he feels responsible in some way.

Terrible way to start a marriage, IMO!

It is so easy to get caught up in the planning . . . for me I was so busy planning my wedding, studying for the bar exam and starting my first legal job, that I didn't take the time to really and truly take a personal inventory of my feelings. Sad but true. Thankfully, I did make the right choice. I could never have said my vows and truly meant them with this guy.
My moment was the dress. When I had that dress on and looked at myself in the mirror, instead of seeing a beautiful bride to be, I just saw a woman in chains. It haunted me for a couple of days and then I just couldn't get out of bed one day, it was just awful. I could not imagine walking down the aisle to him but then I equally could not imagine telling him so. I felt like I would rather die than tell him that. I guess being socialized to be a "nice" girl and please people was my downfall in that way. I did not know about filling my own cup first before I could share with others.
