I had hopes of staying some place where we could stop in and rest up for an hour and then go back at it.

Well... so much for the bellyaching! I'm sure we'll make the best of it and it's gonna be a lot of fun!!

The Luxor is one of my fave hotels on the Strip. It's very, very cool. You'll love it.

Thanks for the reassurance Paula! After I checked out their website I was thinking we could easily end up spending plenty of time just at the hotel. I called yesterday and reserved our room in the high portion of the pyramid.

This is a great suggestion. Cash for a cab - when you get tired is a must. You may think "Oh , we can do that......" and by the end of the day, any price for a ride back is worth it!

I also did a little more research and found the following...

www.bell-trans.com offers a shuttle to and from the airport roundtrip for $9.50 per person. Their number is (702) 739-7990. When you arrive at the airport, you go through baggage claim and look through door #12. They will have shuttles at that location.

Apparently, Las Vegas also has a trolley that will take you up and down the strip. It's $1.65 exact change to ride. The trolley begins at the Stratosphere at the northern end and goes to Mandalay Bay casino (the southern end).

Laura, The Luxor has an IMAX theater inside which would be awesome to do as well.

I'll post more when I find more information.

That's awesome info, about the airport shuttle. Thank you, I was wondering what I was going to do about that.

Is anyone up for some import/export shopping at the Venetian with me?

I think you're thinking of the monorail - that thing's down half the time. There are several trolleys going up & down the strip all day long & they're always in service as far as I know.

Psh. You're no fun! Although you wouldn't catch my ass doing that either (nor the rest of me)

I'd totally be down for a drink at Ghost Bar--the view from the top looks amazing.

I would like to check out the Ghostbar too. But if there's a 2 hour wait, I'm out. I quit standing in lines like that a LONG time ago. Life's too short. Well... sort of. My daughter wants to go to that club that has suds dancing ... is that Rain? Maybe David and I can shop at the Venetian on that night.

Folks who still haven't found a hotel should check out Lasvegas.com by the by. There is a great deal at the excalibur there for $58 a night during the week which includes 2 dinner tickets, 2 rollercoaster tickets and $20 off (total) their "tournament of kings" show. It's called the Spring Faire package. Just a heads up.

Yeah but remember that anything with wheels on the main strip is going to be sitting on it most of the time because of the traffic. In your car it takes 15 mins to go a block or 2 on the Strip

Tell your cab driver to take Koval St. I believe that's the name of it? It runs parallel to the strip, just east of it.

(yup Koval works) Or industrial...its on the west side of the strip...... Just depends on exactly where you are going. Sometimes the strip is the easiest way to go. Plus you can l;ook at the pretty lights. OOOOOH
