Exactly the reason that the you should NEVER believe what you hear.

Maybe they will do what they did after TISL..she will come off the road and start in the studio after Christmas. I just don't understand the general consensus that they are never ever going to record together again when everything they said in the last few years indicated otherwise. I remember Lindsey saying he would never do solo again and focus on the Mac if Stevie wanted to go back in after the tour wrapped.
Has sooooo much changed all the sudden that I am unaware of? Mick not wanting to give a definative answer is not unusual if nothing is set in stone. I am skeptical of the Peter Green comment too although I would love it to happen.
I think people are saying there is zero to no chance of them having a record out by early 2006 as the DJ's comment seemed to imply, not that they will never record again. I fully expect to see another Fleetwood Mac album, just not that soon, especially with Stevie touring this year.

Because "Rumours-era sans Chris" ISN'T the Rumours-era, after all, now is it?

Default sorry

I agree. SYW incarnation sounds good. I borrowed the "rumours era sans Chris" from a prior post.

No, it most definitely is not. 80% of the Rumours line-up is not the Rumours line-up. SYW it is.

All those waiting for Lindsey solo are going to be waiting a long time. He will roll all the songs once again into another Mac album. Realistically, he has worked on GoS for over ten years..certainly he should have ten or 12 songs ready. (even with the nine on SYW) If he really wanted to get it out, he would have. I know he said he was writing again and if that is the case...there is even less of a chance of those songs making a solo album. It will take him a four or five years to tweak and get them right. Perfectionist that he is. Sorry for being a Debbie Downer but I am STILL waiting for the GoS album he said was 90 percent done during the friggin Dance and the tour he said was happening in the summer of 01 on his BTM.
Everything you state in this post is pure speculation. Just because there is some perceived fan consensus or someone speculatates i.e. wishes, hopes and prays about something doesn't turn it into fact. For that matter, when each member of Fleetwood Mac says something --- again, it doesn't mean it's going to happen.( I've been a fan for 26 years...I've seen this scenario play out time and time again.)

"Debbie," you're not downing anyone but yourself. We get what we get when we get it. I've learned to unburden myself from expectations of this band (and life itself). It removes a lot of stress and disappointment!

Default Debbie...

Actually I am not down about any of it...I am so used to Lindsey saying things about solo albums that never come to fruition, that I do take what comes and I have no expectations. I try to be realistic.

Most of this thread has been speculation about what the band might or might not do......by many posters.

You're so right about that. I'm still not sure whether it would be a good thing or a bad thing if the band actually took actions based on what is speculated about among fans. There are a lot of divergent opinions.

If we had that kind of control...well, we just have to hope that the band does what we consider "the right thing." More often than not, this isn't the case. I think they live in a self-insular bubble surounded by layers of management that is truly out of touch with the fan base.

Default bubble

I could not agree more. They do appear to be rather out of touch with the regular world..... That is not an insult but just an opinion. Stevie seems so sheltered and protected that I truly wonder how much she really understands about her fans.
And Lindsey? Pure genuis but sometimes appears to miss the big picture.
