I almost put a plastic bag over my head when I watched him perform at the Grammy's. What makes him so hilarious is that he embodies high camp without even intending to do so. His faux Jesus on the Grammy's was quite the knee-slapper. I just want to kick him.

I swear I feel so old. Every other day some new rap guy shows up & sells 5 million records before I can even figure out who the hell he is.

I feel like my parents saying "you kids & your crappy music..." but I really honestly do not like most of what is out there now. Sad but true. It doesn't seem to have any substance.

Me, too.

I never pay attention to any new music, it's all awful for the most part. My adoration for Franz was a happy accident because I never would have picked up their album on my own. And it seems like music in general has just become boring. There's really nothing new to say anymore.

Okay, I saw her video. It was really distracting that she couldn't say sh**, I thought. It took away from the flow, not only in the music but in the choreography.

However, Gwen looked hot as usual. I like how she had her "old" outfit on.

Also, she looks SMOKIN' hot in her red leotard. I thought they could have used the same concept as they did, but made it a lot better. The cheerleaders outfits, choreography, etc. and Gwen, should have been much more fierce, IMO.
NEVERTHELESS! - Gwen is hotly stupendous, and I love her. especially for a 35 year old. She is obviously immature, like me.

There was much natural Sass, as always.

I didn't see the vid, but on a similar topic...My boyfriend bought me her album when it came out for whatever reason. I'm not sure if he wanted me to get back into the 80s or if he thought I was a fan (I wasn't), but he bought it. Anyway, I really liked it. I loved the first single and I love that song Bubble Pop Electric and Harajuka Girls.

She's adorable and slightly infectious. It's unusual for me to get into female singers who are so bubbly...I'm all about the dark stuff. But she's cute. So who else liked her album and do you recommend I get anything from No Doubt? I have nothing by them but I've probably heard tons.

I? Love the Gwen. I like the album Rock Steady a whole bunch, it's all dancy fun. With some deepish lyrics on some songs, too. Most people have Tragic Kingdom. Return of Saturn is good, from what I've heard (I don't have the album, but have heard some songs). you can view some videos here: www.nodoubt.com/video - trapped in a Box and Spiderwebs are great older videos. I especially loved the song Bathwater, which I hadn't heard before.
There is one song from their first album, NO DOUBT, that I absolutely love - it's called Sometimes. Veeery pretty.

It's weird because I like No Doubt (with the exception of Rock Steady, oy), but I can't get into her solo album at all. It sounds amateurish and too labored at the same time. A few songs are good, but I just can't get into.

My favorite No Doubt album is Return of Saturn, I think it's their best.

Gaw, I love Rock Steady! Oh, well. And I think her solo album is exceptionally produced, as far as I know about such things. I think the sounds, rhythms, etc are very unusual, and somewhat innovative.

I just watched the vid for Bathwater last night, and loooooved the song. That's from Return of Saturn, I presume? (I don't have that one).

Aww. I love Return of Saturn and Beacon Street Collection the most. Tragic Kingdom's great, too. Any of those would be great starters, but if you like dark stuff, deffinitely go with Saturn.

Yup, Bathwater is from Saturn. I like that one, but my favorite song from it is Artificial Sweetener. I love that one. Rock Steady gets on my nerves, I think it's atrocious. That single Hey Baby is, IMO, one of the worst and most obnoxious things I've ever heard. Waiting Room is incredibly awkward, her and Prince do not go together at all. Platinum Blonde Life is such a Debbie rip-off that I instantly disliked it. Very unoriginal. I was *really* disappointed with that album. But I like their other ones, so it all balances out.

PS: If you want a kick-ass album, the new Garbage one comes out Tuesday!

I want to get Garbage, and Return of Saturn.
I like Hey Baby, it makes me dancy and happy. I think the same thing about Rock Steady as L.A.M.B. - I think it is exceptionally produced and unusual. I really love the little Jamaican influence, too (on Rock Steady). I think Gwen, and No Doubt, really have a good sense of who to work with. It usually sounds nice and simple, and up, but there is really a lot going on there.

I went absolutely crazy for this album when it came out... but it's really not cohesive- i can't sit and listen to the whole thing from beginning to end because it's all over the place... i have to program a few songs at a time to listen to. there are like, 2 or 3 different albums of songs on here... that could have been separated to make her next few albums... i understand that it reflects Gwen personality and all the facets of it- but it's just hard to listen to at once. but i still bought it

and convinced a few of my friends to buy it.

oh... and did anyone else notice Jimmy Iovine in her What You Waiting For video? Livia had to point him out to me... I somehow didn't put 2 and 2 together
