What I saw of it looked pretty sentimental ("schmaltzy" seems too harsh), so I can see why you wouldn't like it.

I'm actually not much for overly sentimental movies either (aside from a few faves, like 'Somewhere In Time'), but I really liked what I saw of 'Other Sister,' so I think I'd enjoy the entire movie. Never gave it the time of day before though!

And I really like Giovanni Ribisi. I think he's a great actor... and he gets bonus points for having an awesome first name.

Gawd, there's something about him that drives me to drink. I just see red whenever he's onscreen. The meek voice and the facial contortions; the whole package turns me way off and I never see a performance from him that doesn't seem as if he's auditioning for summer stock.
