The man gets better and better with every release, although, I have to say I didn't like his last one, Reality too much.
There's only the one Pixies cover, Cactus. The other covers are Gemini and I've Been Waiting For You (Neil Young song, surprisingly). Love that album.

I like Reality a lot, too. The only songs I'm not keen on are The Loneliest Guy and Pablo Picasso. I really like Bring Me the Disco King, but he needs to learn that less is more; it's too ****ing long and made for a boring song live. My favorites are Reality, Fall Dog Bombs the Moon, and New Killer Star (*love* the "Jesus on Dateline" line).

Some of the albums that you guys are posting are surprising to me. A lot of them aren't underrated at all. U2? Seriously? Do they have a single underrated record? I have no time for U2 but almost everyone else on the planet thinks they're still brilliant. I think after Zooropa, they fell apart. A lot of people thought Zooropa stunk, but I liked it.

My underrated albums are:
Sarah Slean- Day One
Jane Siberry - Maria
Those are the only two I have disagreed with the critics on

Overrated albums are :
Morrissey - You Are the Quarry (critics loved this one. I think it's a good album but half of it is skip-worthy)
Radiohead - everything after Kid A. I think they have been stuck in a routine since Kid A. Their music has lost its magic in my mind
Bjork - Medula. I was really excited about the release of this record, but it was such a let down for me. The critics were peeing themselves over it but I find it a very difficult album to listen to.

That's all I got right now.

Oy, talk about awful. I sold that one back to a used music shop. No thanks.

To Be Honest, I beleive Bowies worst album was Space oddity..I really dont go for the whole Mammas and Poppas thing.

Plus why the albums from Outside to Relaity, really is udneratted is because, Bowie messed up when he did his lovely Tin Machine movement which I guess lsot his fans, but Never Let me Down and Black Tie White Nose..sort of let younger fans leave. Its sad becuase he seems to be coming back with bigger and better stuff. If he does a new album, i hope it is oriented like Low or Lodgher was. Who knows.

Lightbulb Christian albums

Supernatural - DC Talk
Jesus Freak - DC Talk

i2eye - Michael W. Smith

Unguarded - Amy Grant

Angels of Mercy - Susan Ashton

These albums are HUGE in the Christian music arena, but probably not known outside of that, unfortunately.

I love Reality. I think it's an awesome record. I like Pablo Picasso, but I love the Modern Lovers so I was thrilled when I heard he was doing it. My favorites are New Killer Star and She'll Drive the Big Car. I LOVE that song.

As for other choices for underrated albums, Is Elliott Smith's either/or considered underrated? I've always considered it his best album, by far. I spent high school being so emo to that record before people were emo.

I also like Morrissey's You Are The Quarry quite a bit. It's uneven, but most of his records are. First of the Gang to Die, Irish Blood English Heart, and Let Me Kiss You are great, great songs. I've been listening to the new Live at Earl's Court CD on repeat for the last week. I've wanted Morrissey to be my boyfriend since I was like ten.

I hate to say it, but Elliott Smith is way too ugly for me to like him. I sound like a total dick, I know, but seriously, look at the man!

The Morrissey album. I know. Some songs are amazing. But a song like All the Lazy Dykes and that crappy Take me back to Camden (is that the title?). Barf!!! The good songs are ridiculously good though. And the new Live At Earls Court is so so good! When he played in Toronto, we went back stage and met all the band. It's cool to see them all in the sleeve of the album. They're super nice guys. Didn't meet Morrissey, but I gripped his hand tight from the front of the stage. Didn't get up to hug him. Lots of people did.

I better give Reality another listen. It didn't move me but you guys obviously think it's really good. So, I'll give it another shot.

Not to interrupt, but I often don't watch things because of the very same reason. Ugly ugliness.

Sorry you do sound like a total dick. What difference does that make when listening to the music? The music itself is beautiful.
Plus he's dead now so he shouldn't offend you with his ugliness any more.
Seriously though what an idiotic comment.

What was their ballad? It was one of the best "hair band" tunes & I never hear it anymore.

Agreed.

He was one of the greatest, if not the greatest songwriter of his generation. I'm so glad he stabbed himself in the chest so that you don't have to see him anymore.

I think you should post your picture so that we can all evaluate whether or not we should bother paying attention to any of your posts.

album ("The Lizard") their hit was the ballad "Love Is On the Way"...But the self-titled disc absolutely smokes that release and 99.9% of the releases from the period when "hair metal" ruled!

Bad thing is that Saigon Kick was wrongly called "hair metal", When their debut disc is a combination of David Bowie type lead vocals, The Beatles backing vocals/instrumentation & a heavy rock/alternative vibe

Just find their debut and if you dont like the second track "What You Say" you may need a brain transplant cause yer brain has gone "buh-bye!"

Oh no! Such hostility! It's not only his unattractiveness that I disliked about him. I found the songs that I heard of his to be a little boring. One of my friends loved him and lent me a record. I wasn't moved. I'm sorry if I offended anyone. The comment definitely had a tone of humour to it. I guess that doesn't come through when it's typed. Oh and by the way, I'm glad he stabbed himself in the chest too! JUST KIDDING!!! Maybe this guy will help to carry the message ------>

Oh, and also, I'm hideously deformed. So, you might not want to read my posts. Amber and I both have serious birth defects!
