She's not my favorite but is one of the best pop stars today. I think she just doesn't bring the personality or special touch to her songs (which are complete Adult Contemp!) that Stevie does. Her voice is nothing special and her dancing is cringe worthy. That being said, she did do a nice job with Stevie on TISL and the Practical Magic soundtrack.

Fall From Grace is AC? TISL (the song) and POTU is adult contemp? Smile at You, illume, RTTG, EFO? Those are rock and roll songs in my book. Of course she always has a few AC songs on each record (Everyday/SYW) to release as singles but she is a rock and roller not a Clay Aiken or a Celine Dion 100% Adult Contemp. Artist.

And When Sheryl dances around at her microphone with her guitar it is very subtle but bugs me sooooo much. I just don't like when she does that! Maybe the same way some people hate Stevie's air guitar and air drums (all love that about Stevie but others can't stand it)

While I think all of the aforementioned songs are amazing, they are considered to be Adult Contemporary and are listed as such on the charts.

Wait... how? None of those songs (sans POTU which was listed as a club/dance song) were singles so they weren't listed on the charts to my knowledge.

I guess what I am trying to say is that a song like Edge of Seventeen has a lot more depth/rock and roll flair then Soak Up the Sun.

Whereas I see songs like Redemption Day and Member's Only having more depth than Edge of Seventeen. Comparing Soak Up the Sun to Edge of Seventeen is like comparing Murrow to I Like Big Butts. It's not really fair to compare their songs because Stevie writes from a purely emotional standpoint about what love and pain, etc., while Sheryl writes from more of an observational standpoint regarding society in many of her songs.

C'mon C'mon sucked donkey balls, though, I'll give that one to you. But if I were you were, I surely wouldn't judge her as "pop" or as not having any depth based on that album.

Well, that sucks because "The Very Best of Sheryl Crow" is "The Most Mediocre of Sheryl Crow," in my opinion. That album just has the crappy singles and not the great album stuff. Though A Change, Home, There Goes the Neighborhood, and I Shall Believe from it have just as much substance to them as anything Stevie has written, in my eyes.

Words cannot describe my disgust for The First Cut Is the Deepest, though, that sucker is garbage.

ITA. Safe & Sound was the reason I went to see Sheryl in 2002 (love her, but I had already seen her at benefits), and that song alone was worth the ticket price! The vocal was chilling.

I really like Sheryl, but she does do lots of fluff. S&S is spectacular, and I adore Difficult Kind (esp the performance she did with Stevie at the AHI benefit. Those harmonies give me chills.)

On the actual subject of Mick and Lindsey showing up...

Mick? Probably.

Lindsey? No. Aside from the glitz that is Vegas (and is not Lindsey) I do seem to recall a quote from Lindsey many years back that likened Stevie and Christine's solo shows to lounge acts. While certainly time can change things, I don't think that particular opinion would have changed.

As for Lindsey being "jealous and bitchy"

If he really did tell Stevie that she should tone her outfits down for the tour, it might not have had anything to do with jealousy. Perhaps it was just a suggestion that Stevie took the wrong way and got defensive about (like she did with other suggestions in the Destiny Rules doc). But really, its funny how some SN fans are so quick to call LB such things when so many of the fans themselves have no leg to stand on.
