"unbraid with all the love that you have like a soft silver chain" I don't like to envision long, gray hair being braided and unbraided in a song. Doesn't sit right with me somehow.

Or, "don't hide behind your hair, it's a bit of gold and braid" (yet another braid reference) great song, silly phrase....

"in your finery hey, hey" the use of the word "finery" is utterly hilarious to me.

"sunflowers and your face fascinate me." sorry, but this makes me laugh every time.

Her strong vocal, the harmonies, the power of that song & the rest of the lyrics override those little teeny tiny problems for me.

Besides, I tie the "face becomes thin" line to the earlier "the woman is so tired so the woman disappears" part. It's so sad.
You can fly swingin' from your trapeze
Scaring all the people
But you'll never scare me

LOVE THAT VERSE!!

No speed limit, this is the fast lane Gotta love this song!!

How's about the entire song Thousand Days? It makes me embarrassed.

Quiet now, songbird, just for one night
Well, I know that you love to sing
Oh, baby, well I know that you love to write
Well, you live by the light of the moon
I live by the light of desire
Oooh, says words to her over the phone
Just how many people are there with you now?

That song made question whether or not she was nucking futs.

Pretty bad indeed.

I love Illume but the line, "oooh I'm alone now...with my thoughts" is also quite funny. The delivery is priceless.

But it's just like a river, it's neverending.

That is, quite possibly, the worst line she's ever written.

Well, that's a stretch, but it's a travesty all the same.

She loves her natural bodies of water that's for sure.

Next idea for a thread: Name as many Stevie songs as you can that include references to water. And rain counts.

I'm beginning to think that a thread about Stevie's worst lyrics might be longer then a thread on her best lyrics.... and we call ourselves fans

Dissention mentioned "Night Gallery", which is just horrible. The Nicksfix Lori question about "Why didn't you stop Stevie from taking drugs?" Well, the answer should be apparant from "Night Gallery" and others like it- the reason Lori didn't stop Stevie from doing drugs is because she was doing them right along with her. DUH!

There have been some doozies listed, this is my biggest stinker:

"And as all this comes to an end
So go the lilies of the valley
From this hour on
Brilliant is your danger
Darker than the image on the wall
Is the fear of it all"

"Ooh, sometimes your frightened
And you don't know why
There's been a few things
Well, I know you really loved a lot
And then one day
In your bright blue sky
Well, I never did say why to you...
Why... You must know...
He said No not really"

"Memories fade like the wind
Oh, and she says
No, this will never come again
He says, Oh well... who can tell?
She says...I think you walk a thin line
Walk a thin line
She said you must know
He said No not really..."

"Then there are the things,
Misunderstandings...
Well I know that there's a few things
That you really loved a lot...
I know, in spite of what you say,
One thing that I really wanted,
I really wanted you...
This will leave you
Haunted in your mirror"

What is she ****ing talking about????? This is all one big, rambling, meaningless non-sequitur.... blecch.

Just plain awful!!!

It occurs to me that, for Stevie, this really isn't that bad. I've never heard it sung, though, so maybe that makes it worse...It certainly holds no candle to: "You're a frontliner...you put it all on the li-hine.......OOO and your consistent....HEY, and that's good....etc." To me, those lyrics are near the pentultimate of badness. The one you posted also couldn't touch the flaming crap bomb that is Silver Girl. IMO.

Dearest fellow Canadian! This is all for the sake of comedy. I adore Stevie Nicks and play her pretty much every day. When I'm listening to her songs, I can pretty easily ignore the bad writing for whatever reason. Normally bad lyrics destroy me. But I have tons of forgiveness for Stevie. She's my queen. I just love making fun of her!

I should say I love making fun of everyone including myself, because I can be pretty, pretty, pretty lame sometimes!

At least "Silver Girl" is coherant and tells a story that most people can figure out. Whereas-

"And as all this comes to an end
So go the lilies of the valley"

and

"Then there are the things,
Misunderstandings...
Well I know that there's a few things
That you really loved a lot..."

make absolutely no sense whatsoever. I really do think that this song was a complete cut and paste scrapbook job from journals. Just like that other piece of **** "The Nightmare". PUKE!

On the other hand.....

"Bella Donna" is sheer greatness. I happen to like "Thousand Days". "Sister Honey" is kinda .
