Default Tesla Live

Just wanted to give a big to Tesla, who played an incredible show Tuesday night at a small club here. I've loved them for years, and they're one of the few 80's "hair bands" (although they were never really a "hair band") whose music has held up, IMO.

They played all their hits as well as several tunes off their new CD "Into the Now." It was mostly accoustic, which was awesome! There were about 1500 people there - a sell out for that club. And you can't beat $15 per ticket.

It was billed as a 3 hour show, but they ended up playing about 2&1/2 hours (they mentioned several times that singer Jeff had a bad cold.) He sounded great considering, but he kept wiping his nose. I was distracted at first, then thought "This is rock & roll, it's not like he can bring a box of Kleenex on stage." He took a few breaks, drank lots of tea & water. They also let 5 or 6 die-hard fans up on stage to sit on couches around them for the entire show - very cool.

They did a couple of covers: "I Wanna Be Sedated" accoustically and "Do You Feel Like I Do." Yup - Frampton. When it came on, I figured it would be 15 minutes long so I went to pee. Sure enough, they were still going when I got back - but it was actually good! I've never been a huge fan of Pete, I think he's kind of cheesy, but this cover (mainly the electric guitar solo, was smokin' hot!

My only complaints were they didn't do "Paradise" or "Caught Up In a Dream." But I'll live. It was great to see a good rock band playing good rock music in an intimate setting & giving their all to their fans. So if anyone's even a just casual fan & they come to town, go for it - you will NOT be disappointed.

Did they do "Little Suzi"? That's my anthem, I love that song. I saw them in the early 90s and they rocked. I love them.

Cool! It sounds like you had a great time and that's awesome that they played for so long. I used to listen to their music a lot but I've never seen them in concert. For $15 though I might have to check them out.

I loved that power ballad they did back in the 80's. I think it was called "Love Song" or something like that.

Of course! And it rocked.

Yeah, it is "Love Song." Did that one too. And No Way Out (Heaven's Trail) and Signs. Hubby said he swears they did The Way It Is, but I don't remember it .

Tesla always puts on a great show. I have seen them many times since 1988. Little Suzi brings back so many memories of cruising Kickapoo (cruse strip in my hometown) in my red Trans Am with my big hair an attitude to match.

Sweet. You are so cool! Hehe. I never had a tranny but a friend did and I always felt so cool in it. His was black. My hair was also large. It brings back memories of me blasting it in my room and jumping around. My favorite local band covers this song and they do it great. I jump up and down when they start playing it! This song definitely made me feel cool.

When I hear the opening guitar cords for Little Suzi I always grin from ear to ear. I will always be an 80's rocker chic at heart!

Oh wow, this is my all time favorite 80's band! I saw them open up for Def Leppard (sp?) sometime in the late 80's- I'm glad they sounded so great!

Sounds like it was a great show. It's always fun to see a band like that in a small club. I just checked their website and they already played Providence on Feb 25th. It was not at a small club, however. It was also a benefit for the Station nightclub family fund which was really nice to see.
I don't listen to the radio so I miss out on all of these shows. I loved the fact that they have a place to upload your photos that you took at the concert. They also have a section where you can vote on what songs you would to hear them play in concert. Too bad more bands could not be in touch with their fans like Tesla.

Yeah, they mentioned the Station family fund several times, they are putting an autographed guitar up for auction to benefit the fund.

I saw the "vote for the song you want to hear" thing after my show. I would have voted for Paradise 1000 times if I had seen it sooner!

Exclamation Glad ya had a great time...

Tesla does put on a great show.

As for me my ears are still ringing from the Keith Urban/Katrina Elam show last night.

Tell ya what, Katrina Elam vocals are beyond this world, She can smoke ANYONE off of that crapfest "American's Idiotic Idol"...She may only be 21, But that girl has a good future ahead of her.

KU rocked, Plain and simple...His show was even better than the Fleetwood Mac shows I have seen in 2003 & 2004, I think wondergirl will also agree (We had fun before/after the show!)

You're kidding me! I'm there!

BTW - don't I have to do something different to get torrents? Do I have to download something? Or can I just click & save like mp3?

Please help me Brian, oh holy God of bootleg recordings.
