Well, I started making all sorts of plans to go, then I thought "you must be one crazy bitch to think your husband (who's laid off from work right now, btw) is going to let you fly out to Vegas for the 2nd time in 6 months only to see Stevie at the same time the addition is scheduled to start being put onto the house!"

So at dinner I said "So Stevie's playing Casar's in Vegas in May." He goes "I don't care." I say "I don't suppose I can go for my birthday?" And he says "No way...wait, do I have to go with you?" I say "No, Theresa will go with me." He says "OK, go ahead. But you're not spending our income tax refund." I say "That's OK, I'll just use my overtime money." He says "Well, you just better hope I'm working by then."

I knew I married that man for a reason! The only crappy thing is I can't get ahold of Theresa - she's in Daytona at Bike Week! I asked her if she'd go to Vegas if the rumours turned true & she said yes, but still. I want to double check before I go ahead & make us reservations! So, yeah, I guess I'm pretty much in!

Yes!!!! Sorry about your husband. That's funny, you said "I knew there was a reason I married this man!" and I was thinking "i'm sooo glad i'm not married!" Not really, though, just for this type of thing - it's nice you have such a great relationship and all....
Do you know which days, yet? A lot of people are going on the first two days, cause it's cheaper...I want to hit the weekend, though, (less days off work) but I'm not sure yet. My flight is cheap, but the hotel and tickets? not so cheap....

I don't mind being married at all - of course, we'd already been together 10 years before we finally got hitched, so it's not much different. We really don't ask eachother "permission" to do stuff, but I figure I'd better check it out before I blow $1000 of our money, yaknowwhatimsayin? Of course, if he wanted to go to Vegas without me & see Jackyl or some Godawful crappy band that he likes, there'd be no f*cking way. Let's just say that I'm the responsible one. And he agrees.

Anyhoo - I'm looking into it, but I'm probably aiming for the first and/or second show. The weekend will be way too expensive to pull off. I'm researching whether it will be better to go through Funjet Vacations (they have direct flights chartered through Southwest & you can pretty much stay where you want) or try Expedia/Travelocity etc. So far Funjet's winning.

Did you try cheaptickets? just curious, I'm new to the whole "travel package" thing...I'll check out yours, too. It would kick ass if I could somehow go to all of them, but since I'll probably be going alone, I'm trying to see who's going when. Stevie's only playing 1.5 hours a night, I have to fill the rest of the time with fun and debauchery, of course!
I wasn't trying to bag on your husband or anything - you guys sound great, actually, I hope I find that someday... That's always just the first thought that pops into my head when I want a friend to do something, and they have to plan it with someone else... don't mind me, my best friend is married, and it cramps my style sometimes!!! (ie, she doesn't do what I want with me, when I want it... she does have stevie's b-day, and is really nice, so I forgive her )

sorry! I don't think I'll have enough for both - NY is expensive. But I would if I could, rest assured. But probably you are thinking the same thing about NOTS as I am about Vegas: "it's closer, and the flight is cheaper" (for me, just like NY is cheaper for you). "come to Vegas, Deanna...join us...joooiin ussssss...." But actually, I bet some east coasters are still going to NOTS....

that's my thinking exactly...although when I saw Stevie was playing Vegas I though ...oh well - I'll go to that instead...not taking into consideration the considerable price difference

Oh well...I can't swing Vegas right now - if I had the money I'd go to NM - if my family found out I spent $$ on Vegas and not on visiting them....oooh there'd be hell to pay

Families, Bah! JK. I'm sorry I won't be seeing you! It's nice you are close to your fam, though. When my mom guilt trips me - ("You have other plans for your 30th birthday?! Well, guess I'll see you some time before you hit menopause!") I think - "shoulda been nicer, shouldntchya?!" MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! REVENGE!

For future reference, Southwest has tons of cheap direct N/S flights from Buffalo to Vegas. Phoenix too. You can do a 4 night in Vegas with a direct flight there & back for less than $500 if you book ahead.

I'm really sorry about NOTS, but when there's a real chance for me to see Stevie, I have to take it. I've wanted to go to NOTS for the past few years & never have. Maybe Curtis will still go to NOTS - he said he can't go to Vegas. Hopefully we can get together eventually, since you're all close & stuff.
