Also, as a Republican, shouldn't you be concerned with overcrowding and wasting tax dollars on incarcerating people like that? Putting Martha Stewart through such a spectacle of a trial and then sending her off to prison certainly isn't what I would call fiscal responsibility.

Well, that is a matter of opinion. Hey, it's not like she went to jail for life! She is already out...I don't even remember her being in prison now! She'll still have her career and money, and all her fans now are happy. If you ask me they went easy on her.

That's ludicrous. I swear, there are robbers and rapists who serve less time...but, If you want to think that, go ahead. I'll just mark you off in the "uninformed" column and move on.

LOL! No, she breaks the law, so she is the enemy! Especially the fact that she used to be a broker! THAT is what really makes me so mad about the entire thing. She knew the rules and knew what she was doing was just STUPID and WRONG! If anything she should have went to prison for stupidity if not for the crime itself.

The day we start locking people up for being stupid is the day half of this country becomes cellblock neighbors.

Martha Stewart deserved house arrest and a fine, nothing more.

That's basically what she got. I'm sure she was treated like a queen in prison.

No, she went to prison and is now being put under house arrest. Either way you slice the bread, it's still stale. And you still haven't said a thing about Bush's insider trading. Should he have gone to prison?

I didn't realize this topic was about Bush? I am trying to stay away from most of the political topics on this forum, they ususally lead no where!

You made the statement that someone who commits insider trading is breaking the law, so they are the enemy and should be put in prison. I'm simply asking if the same standard applies to the chimp.
