That's not true. The Vegas venue is small and she's getting no respect.

Just out of curiosity, how many people have been showing up to your shows lately?

Ouch. My soul weeps because of that stinger.

I didn't know concert attendance could be equated with how good someone is, just as album sales can't necessarily be equated with the quality of the album.

Eh, so what's new.

Stevie could fly to Ethiopia tomorrow and personally breast-feed several hundred starving children, and some of the people on this board would fixate on the fact that Sulumith had her own damn seat on the plane ride there!

That? Was a gut-buster, Le Stew.

Neither can the level of respect you should have for someone be equated with what size venues they play.

Of course it can. I have much more respect for someone who sticks to small venues than I do for someone who embarks on a mammoth Clear Channel-sponsored tour (*shudder*). I lost a bit of respect when Bowie did it, just as I lost a bit respect when it came to the Mac doing it.

Well, we did hear an awful lot of praise for Lindsey selling out six shows on his 'Cradle' tour, as if it were a sign of something other than playing 800-seat venues.

To me, that's just as illogical as what you posted earlier. Of course, what should I expect from you? I respect Stevie, and that's it. I don't care what size she plays at.

Wait... are we talking venue size or dress size now?

But that won't stop me from teasing you about it!

Eh, bite me.

If you like Clear Channel, more power to you. I, on the other hand, do not.

Bowie and Tina did a Pepsi commercial in the mid-80s... I realized then that if I could forgive two of my faves hawking a cola, I could forgive anything!

It's the music that keeps me coming back for more... the business/money-making side of it is a necessary evil that I've learned to look past.
