I'm glad you can speak for Sharon, Josh. I figured she wasn't going to anyway, I was teasing. Thanks for speaking up, though, 'preciate it! By the way, she specifically said that she promised herself that if Stevie toured again in the States she would come to see it. So, guess you don't know what you're talking about? Don't have all the info? Thanks again!

I think for any major artist or group to go on such a small, intimate tour is pretty damn cool. I remember Bowie stopped doing big tours after that ridiculous one in the late eighties and he only recently went back on a huge tour; for almost 15 years before Reality, he was playing small clubs and venues where tickets cost $30 (the Roseland Ballroom show in '02 is one of the best shows I've ever witnessed by anyone). And they were spectacular tours because they were so intimate and warm. Blondie's latest tour (which I swear will never end) is so bloody amazing because they're playing the smallest venues possible. When I saw them in Boston for $30 (again) back in May, that place was so tiny that you would have thought it was CBGBs. And those are the venues where rock shows are at their best.

To be able to hear Stevie do the likes of Beautiful Child in such a small setting would give me goosepimples.

Don't get your knicker elastics in a twist.

Once again, I stated my observation based on the discussion in this thread, which didn't deal with Stevie touring the States, it dealt with her playing Vegas. So you must not know what you're talking about. Thanks again!

You stated what you thought someone else's opinions/desires were, and you replied to something I said to that person. Why bother? To get in my face a bit it seems to me. And for the joy of guessing what Sharon was really thinking?
And playing in Vegas is still playing in the states, if not touring.

No, it hasn't. Has your ability to figure out acronyms failed you?

Cool beans!

I can't believe that they already have dates booked for you guys in NOVEMBER. Talk about planning ahead!

Are you talking about Shepherds Bush (sp?) venue? I got that DVD ages ago and still haven't watched it!

I'm not a concert-goer to begin with, as everyone knows... but the LAST place I'd ever want to see a band perform, would be in some small, cramped, claustrophobic little "intimate" club, surrounded by a bunch of sweaty, smelly people.

Gives me the heebie-jeebies just thinking of being in a place like CBGBs!

I'd never be able to enjoy myself without room to move and breathe... so arena or outdoor venue, please!

I know, you guys are really lucky ****s. And even on bootlegs, the band seems to play better in the UK for some reason.

I think the one I ahve is from a show back in August, but I'm not sure. I don't even have the setlist.

Each time I've seen Sheryl, it was at a small venue, so I have much respect for her, too.

Yeah, but you miss out on the good bands, the atmosphere, and get robbed when it comes to tickets.

I know what you mean, though. But I feel such a distance between myself and the performers in arenas and ampits, it kind of puts a damper on my fun.

I do feel for you, I really do.
Some fans definitely seem to need the immediacy and close physical proximity of an intimate venue for the utmost enjoyment.

But anytime I think of club performances, I think of being packed in WAY too closely to a bunch of people I don't know, who smell of ghastly things... and there's just no way I could tune all of that out, to focus on enjoying the show.

I even cringe when I see the hordes of fans crowded around the edge of the stage, to strum Lindsey's guitar or hand Stevie a snuffed Snoopy.
This boy needs his space!!!

Don't you know, Stew, you can only respect an artist if they play at small venues?

I can't say I've ever been next to ghastly smelling people at a concert, let's hope I never am. Club performances are great to me because you can feel the bloody music down to your bones, whereas the sound in ampits is very hollow and a tad muddled.

You should have seen them rushing to the stage at the Boston TISL show, it was insane. Those crackers were more entertaining than Stevie; I swear, they were vicious.
