I love it.

Although they should NOT remake this movie. What's the point? It was done right the first time, let's not tamper with genius.

Exclamation Dresses

I didn't watch the Oscars, except, I did catch the last 30 minutes off and on. I looked at the pics on Yahoo last night...and I thought Kate Winslet and Selma Hayek looked the best, their dresses were gorgeous!

Dude - Salma looked HOT HOT HOT - man she is beautiful...I can't STAND Penelope Cruz though- I don't know why - I want to hit her repeadetly when I see/hear her.

I am glad that the Spanish song won- it is a beautiful song with beautiful lyrics

Renee Zellweger always looks like she's sucking on a lemon - I can't stand her...

Halle Berry looked AMAZING!!!!

Um...I actually like Chris Rock's opener - but other than that he was pretty boring - I enjoyed the Bush/Gap analogy and thought it was really funny.

I LOVED Robin Williams' gay cartoon character rant...Donald Duck - little Sailor shirt - no pants - HELLO!?!

Anyway - I missed the crowd shots - it seems they did a lot less and that's usually my favorite part of the Oscars - lots and lots of crowd shots...

I have a problem with Hillary being in the same category as Jack Nicholson, Meryl Streep, Katharine Hepburn, Kevin Spacey and others who have won two or more Oscars. She just ain't there. Other than her two "Oscar movies," the rest of her films have bombed. Most of those people have had legendary careers, and Hillary is barely in her 30s. IMO, it's a bit ridiculous, especially when you have 40-something Julianne Moore who hasn't won one; or Nicole Kidman who was well into her 30s before she took home her first Oscar.

Typical Joan. I think all that plastic surgery has seeped through and embalmed her brain.

And don't get me started on her equally obnoxious daughter. Aye caramba!

With the "onstage" thing, it's kind of awkward when they say "Here are this year's outstanding nominees," and they show the nominees out there ... standing.

Sorry but I don't consider any of the above good reasons why someone should or should not win an Oscar. Whatever happened to judging based on performance? You may not have liked Hillary in MDB and that's fine, it's your opinion and you're entitled to it. I love Julianne Moore too but she wasn't nominated for anything this year

I hear ya. This bugged me too. But then I started thinking about it and realized that Hillary Swank's character was a member of that family and look how she turned out. Once could say that she rose above the stereotype.

Normally I'd agree with you, but Hilary's performance was arresting and completely deserving for this one. Against the other nominees this year, there was no competition. She blew me away in "Million Dollar Baby"- and sure, she's made her share of stinkers, but she's also made some GREAT films- "The Gift" and "Iron Jawed Angels," are two. I mean, Nicole Kidman is starring in crap like "The Stepford Wives" and "Bewitched." At least Hilary makes (for the most part- no one is infallible) choices to pick roles that are important to her.

I mean, yeah- she's no legend, and she's no "movie star," but she's an incredible craftsman who turned in two of the best performances in cinematic history, in my opinion.

See "Million Dollar Baby"- the clips make her performance look a little cheesy, with all that "Boss, I just wants tah box!" with that accent, but it's not like that.

Ebert was Madsen's #1 cheerleader. He's in love, I tell you.

Me too lol - I wanted her to win for the hotness factor Kidding - I did think her performance was great though and it actually really bugged me that Cate Blanchett won....but whatever...what's done is done....

By the way - Beyonce needs to go away - she sounded good and all - but did she really need to sing like almost every song? And the Counting Crows? Adam didn't sound too good in some parts...

But it shouldn't be about your career, it should be about the performance for which you have been nominated. Swank was amazing in Million Dollar Baby, just as she was amazing in Boys Don't Cry. I like her and think that she deserved the Oscars. JMO.

But I agree with you about Julianne Moore. Might as well just give her the Oscar for her new movie, she's bound to be fabulous in it! I'm still in disbelief that Kidman wasn't nominated for Dogville and that chick from Maria Full of Grace was.

I hear ya. I love Blanchett and thought she was the only saving grace in The Aviator, but what really bugged me was her accent at times. It didn't sound very authentic, even though she worked with a voice coach for hours every day. Kinda sounded like someone from across the Atlantic givng their interpretation of what a thick New England accent sounds like without having heard one.

That's what bugged me in the short clip I saw.
