Sorry if this had been discussed already, but why isn't Hotel Rwanda up for best picture? I think it is my favorite of them all.

Drew Barrymore looks like a whore. Sorry, I'm sure she's going for sexy, but I adore cute quirky blond Drew. This is dark hair, dark eyes, dark dress Morticia Drew. Boo.

Virginia Madsen & her mom are hot!

OK, I'm trying to do 3 things at once & one's gotta go. I'll catch up tomorrow. 'night.

Best dressed so far:

Laura Linney- LOVE the hair and she looks sexy as all get out
Virginia Madsen- THE BACK OF THE DRESS! Wow...and she's so beautiful.
Hillary Swank- Drop dead gorgeous.
Melanie Griffith- She's usually hit or miss, but she hit it tonight.
Helen Mirren- Fabulous.

She plays a waitress and wine enthusiast who begins a relationship with another wine enthusiast who is anything but pleasant company. See it just for her and Paul Giamatti, they set the screen on fire.

To Siskel I say - it was the most boring thing I have seen in ages and I not only fell asleep - but I left after the middle of it!!!! Sandra Oh was - on the other hand - worth awakening for!!!!!!

Edit - while tedious on purpose, the scene with the white trash mother was good because the actress playing the mother was a dead pan delivery actor and it worked.

I can't believe you didn't like it. It's one of my favorites from last year. And that ending was so satisfying, too, you missed it. You're the only one I've talked to who didn't like it, actually.

I liked parts of it. I think the big issue for me was I have a hard time being around people who are wine snobs, which the guy who is not nominated was. I did think it had its moments, but was a snoozer overall.

Interestingly, and completely changing the topic

I LOVE Halle Berry for not only attending the Razzies, but for giving an acceptance speech!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, everyone I've talked to loved it! I thought it was great. It's one of my favorites from this year.

I know next to nothing about wine, but that little monologue Madsen gave about why she was so into wine was very touching and poetic to me. It put many of the themes of the movie into perspective and made it deeper than I expected it to be. I don't know, I just loved it. It wasn't forced, it didn't rely on A-list stars, and the characters seemed real, like people you know. And the humor was brilliant.

It must have great word of mouth, too, since it's made almost $60 million so far.

Yes, yes! I agree on all accounts! Those were my favorite aspects of it, too.

See, I thought the two guys were stiff and their acting was sub par and forced if not stilted. I thought the production was unprofessional all of which was too distracting to me. Again, it had cute moments, but the candle in the cow patty did not make a birthday cake But, I am glad you liked it

Interestingly, I LOVED "I [Love] Huckabees" - and it was shot in sort of the same way. So, go figure

Edit - the opening scene of "I [Love] Huckabees" with its profanity was side splittingly funny and Lily T. is an acting saint!!!!

I love I Heart Huckabees, but it is the most pretentious, bloated piece of **** I've ever seen. Get the DVD for the deleted scenes, he purposely annoyed the audience with the theatrical cut. And David O. Russell is an egotistical blowhard, NOT a nice man at all. I had the displeasure of attending a lecture by him and meeting him afterwards. If looks could kill, I would have killed him.

Halle, who looks lovely but her bosom is lopsided - gave a SHOUT OUT to Cedric Gibbons, who is one of the greatest set designers ever ( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0316539/ - http://www.hollywood.com/celebs/detail/celeb/197876 ) and was married to one of the most beautiful women ever, Delores Del Rio ( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0003123/ )

OOOOO - congrats Aviator!!!!!
