"* you've ever used lard in bed."

Now this is just wrong....

I'm a little worried though. I've heard some of those "Southernisms" used here in California by actual Californians. Very worrisome.

On a side note: I really like the song "Dueling Banjos" and banjo music in general. Is there something wrong with me?

I find this very offensive, considering I am from the south. Perhaps I should go find a KKK site about the joys of making fun of ni---rs! Would that be ok?

Did you just use a racial epithet in your post?

No, I was responding to a prejudice and very narrow-minded post about "rednecks" being "a breed of their own."

Um, no. That word is not acceptable, ever.

I didn't even type "the word". I was using it in juxtaposition to another racial/prejudicial slur "redneck". Is it ok to say one (regardless of the history of the word, and how many more are effected by it) but not ok to say the other? Is it plausible to make fun of rednecks and make fun of a race or minority? No, I think not.

"That word" is very offensive and very disgraceful, of course. But if you can't see the point I was trying to make then you are no smarter than "them there rednecks".

Bull****. There are plenty of other words you could have used. As I said, unacceptable.

Exactly, there are other words too, that people could use to talk about southerners other than "redneck". So why is it that it is so funny? I chose to use "that word" because it would catch everyone’s attention. And also so I could actually get it through some liberal skulls that there are other prejudicial and offensive words out there other than "that word".

I never said anything was funny. Nice try. You're not getting away with this. It is unacceptable to use that word...ever.
Got it yet?

I'm from the south, too (actually from your previous posts, I think I live very close to you) but I don't find this offensive at all. Southerners laugh at this kind of stuff all the time. Remember Jeff Foxworthy?

Im not trying to get away with anything. I'm not going to apologize for using a word that I didn't use?

I should have known a liberal would try and turn the tables. The topic and link posted in this thread are very prejudicial and offensive to a large amount of people, which is exactly what you are getting so angry about right now. That terrible word that causes fear and anger among African-Americans everywhere.
