Ok. It's fine
*OMigod, my home town is on the news - there was a giant antigay marriage rally, (oh, those pesky mormon/redneck/uppermiddle class kids!) and then a response by the city leaders (and counterdemonstrators) that that kind of hate message would not be tolerated in Placerville, and that it is declared a hate free "city" (city? not even) blah blah...How weird for me!* Anyway, back to my thought, it's fine, i'll talk to you later, or whatever, have a great night. Oh, unfortunately, I don't like that pic much, but it's ok.
Here's a picture of a building "downtown"

A little late in the game, I know, but I just thought of a big guilty pleasure that I had forgotten to mention...

I LOVE to go to a movie rental place and find the cheesiest possible B-movies (usually horror) to watch. If you're ever in one of the places, check out The Mummy's Kiss, Blood Gnome, Killer Rats, Rodentz, and Anklebiters. Those are a few of the "gems" I've come across.

Speaking of B-movies... has anyone seen Gypsy 83? It has something to do with the "Night of a Thousand Stevies." I almost rented it last time, but ended up with Blood Gnome instead.

There are lots of things that I don't like about her that go beyond her voice, but I don't have the time to list them all. Suffice it to say, I like some of her songs, even love some of them, but I don't like her and I don't find her attractive.
I bet she can survive.

He has a much more manly sound to his voice now that is just so damn sexy. IMO, his loss of range equates to an improved singing voice.
It's a bad thing when you're still trying to sing a song like Go Your Own Way in the same key!

I think they are just jealous that the one out of the three that they liked the least (Chris) is the one who is the most unchanged, as far as her voice and her looks! She is a class act...ROCK ON CHRIS!

I'd prefer that sort of attempt over what Stevie does to her songs by lowering the key so much that the song is utterly unrecognizable and painful to listen to.

I love Christine's voice, so I'm not jealous of anything. Her songs are always hit or miss with me, but I'm not one who dislikes her in the least. I prefer her to Stevie these days.

Yea she has been lowering alot of her songs!

I think she does Beautiful Child very well though! I think that as long as she sticks to middle range material she fairs Okay! Most of her new stuff is pretty good (maybe not artistic wise, but her sounding better singing them....yes)

Very good point and her lack of originality is what has made me lose interest in her. There are only so many songs one can write about dreams before it gets laughable. Her songs have consistently become more explicitly self-involved over the years and I simply do not listen to music to hear the innermost personal thoughts of an artist in an attempt to get to know them, unlike some Stevie fans who listen to her to know the woman behind the songs. I have no desire to know her, I've never met the chick. I listen to music for the pleasure of it, the element of surprise and originality, and the emotional connection I may make to it.

Beautiful Child is the ONLY song she can sing well these days. She croaks everything else. Have you seen Live In Boston? I was there and thought it was phenomenal, but then I saw the DVD and realized just how dull and vocally uninspired she really was for most of it. Say You Will is simply unbearable on it, that vocal is horrifying.

Her new material does nothing for me. It's uninspired and lazy to these ears. She's still capable of hitting it out of the park (the song TISL, for example), but for some reason she chooses not to. Scribbling inane mumbo jumbo in your journal does not a good song make.

Well I wasn't really talking about you!!! I know you like Chris.

I have never understood why she is so overlooked!?!

Her new album is great to me because it's finally her outside THE MAC, able to be truly herself! Very British/blues/pop production and very laid back!

It BLOWS SYW out of the water! SYW tried to be larger than life and exploded in the process! Chris puts on no fronts.

Very good points! Just wondering if there is songs of hers recently like on SYW or TISL that you DO like?
