Wow, I hope she's alright. That's way too much to lose so quickly.

I had never written to a celebrity before because I don't really feel the need to gush over them, but after I finished her book I hauled out and wrote her the most glowing letter I've ever written. And she replied. That book should be in ever library and bookstore, it's amazing.

EEK DAMN TYPOS

I misspoke - she lost it in about four or five months - but that is still too quick and she lost about 40 in the first month.

Thanks (and Amber too ) - she had huge issues with life. First and foremost she modelled at the same time I did - I was nothing really huge, but she had a look and was sought after. The reason for the weight gain was, I think, the result of stopping drugs. But then when she got fat, she started again. On top of all of that was she was over thirty, Jewish, and not married, which she thought of as an embarrasment - which I repeatedly told her was just STUPID. I think she will be okay - but that is alot for onbe person and there is not a whole lot anyone can do other than tell someone a few times, etc.

Oh, that's kind of sad. There isn't much you can do. I'm glad she stopped drugs (right?). That is good.

I think she has. I mean even though I do not smoke it, pot is one thing that is fairly innocuous, but she was way into coke and all that. That is just not for me as I have seen it literally ruin people and/or bring them to the point of death and/or hurting other people. So, I just stay away from it because of that and I do not want to go to jail

yeah, coke is bad. It easily ruins people, and it is so expensive. And if she did speed that is even worse.(although a more effective weight loss "tool" ) Anyway, I'm sure you're there for her as a friend, which is nice.

Did she really need the stomach surgery, Jason? I've known people who didn't need it and it wasn't pretty.

And, I feel so bad saying this, but when I was overweight as a teen, I cut out pictures of obese people from stuff like Guiness and put them on the fridge and on the cupboards. Really worked for me when I wanted a HoHo, seriously.

really? that worked? I'm suprised. Why were you so chubby? Were you just one of those kids who is sort of naturally that way? Or were you a junk food eating lazy bun?

No, I was always active and then *boom* I blew up like the Stay Puft Man. Was fat for two years and by the time I was 15 I knew I had to lose it or I never would, so I worked my tail off. That's why I still watch what I eat and exercise whenever I can.

Oh, yeah. I guess it's that weird pre puberty weight, maybe. Omigosh, you were chubby from 12-15? yoipes. I actually poofed up pretty good then, too, but not sooo much. I was basically usually carrying from 5-10 extra lbs. Not too big a deal, but of course it bugged me. Plus, most of the people I knew were pretty thin. blah blah. Glad you lost it.

well, she would try and "diet" but I would find a dozen Krispy Kremes hidden in the oven (which she NEVER used - she ate out all of the time). It worked - so that is some evidence she needed it. She tried for about five years to lose the weight to no avail. In the end, I think the surgery helped her - I just think she will take it to an extreme like she does everything else. To her credit though, she followed the surgeon's instructions to a T.

Ha, I was carrying an extra 50-60. Which is weird because we were so poor and we didn't have junk food unless my grandmother brought some over (hence my trying to stay away from the blasted HoHo's).

I lost it, though, and don't suffer from stretch marks because I lost it while I was still growing.

Whoa! Maybe you got some thyroid condition. That happened to someone I know, and no one could really figure it out or medicate it that successfully. But then, yours went away, so
Congrats on no stretch marks, you're lucky...
