see that **** all too often here in Oklahoma (Oklahoma has the highest teen pregnancy rate in the USA), So much so that it why I changed my opinion on abortion and now support a WOMAN'S right to do what the hell ever she wants to do with her body!!!

As for me, If I knew I had a child in the world I would BUST MY ASS for that child...But alas I never played into the BS of "Oh, Well it isnt MY FAULT she got pregnant"!!!

my home state has been near the top since the 80's (It's embarrassing if ya want the truth)...

I dont understand why teenagers think sex is the proverbial "Be-All-End-All"

Because it's portrayed that way in the media Because they're not being properly educated about sex ...the reasons go on and on and on...

and some of these teens (Who are supposed to be 'individuals who think for themselves' , What a laugh..."Hardy-har-har"!!! This current generation is even worse than my generation of the late 80's!) buy into it "hook-line-and-sinker" nearly everytime.

I have respect for those teens who decide that sex is something that they will wait to have when the time is right as opposed to those who think otherwise (If I have to see anymore teen mother's on Maury Povich's excuse for a show I will projectile vomit a stream 20' vertically!!!)

Give me a break! it IS a women's issue because it directly involves a womans BODY. only the WOMAN experiences the myriad changes that being pregnant entails! a man's SOLE contribution is the sperm. A woman's contribution is the egg, the womb and nine times out of ten, the sole job of parenting. You arent very old are you?
I still don't see how murder is a gender baised issue?

It does seem to be getting worse - and it seems that it's now okay to look like whore in high school Perhaps it was because I was a nerdy band girl - but me and my friends wanted nothing to do with sex in high school - simply because of the pregnancy issue...but sex ed also seems to be diminishing and ugh - there are a wealth of things contributing to the rise in teen pregnancy...

Thumbs down I don't get it either

Who the frick wants an STD?! Ewwww!! It's this invincable mentality of "It won't/can't happen to me."

I'm with you, Deanna. I was a quiet, semi-nerdy gal who had crushes on guys, but wasn't interested in dating really. Apparently, I'm STILL not interested. LMAO!! I need to meet someone, but working at home and never leaving the house...yeah, not helping at all. LOL

I don't understand the whole "I want a baby!" at 13, 14, 15 years old! They just had that on Maury (sorry Brian LOL) a couple of weeks ago and I'm SCREAMING at the TV at these lil girls "You are NUTS!"

but that is basically a two-to-three times a week topic for that scum-bag-of-feces a-hole!!!

If I had a teen daughter that became pregnant at 13,14 or 15 she would receive a "mandatory abortion", Which is my foot in her ass so deep when she opens her mouth I will be able to tie my shoe strings!!!!

Katie Couric is doing a Dateline special on teens and sex which airs tomorrow. It should be eye opening.

As Deanna said, there are so many reasons that teens think sex is the be-all-end-all. An open discussion about that would be awesome for them. I don't think anyone ever said to me, "Look, it is blown way out of proportion, it's fun but so is eating a pint of ice cream." Also, their bodies change so rapidly and hormones rage making the idea of sex not being the greatest thing seem untrue.

Teens are naturally rebellious so certain "taboo" behaviors are going to happen, which is why sex ed is so important, and being completely honest with the kids. No telling them that they'll get pregnant if they hold hands.
