Who's church, my dear? Not mine. You need to understand that your church beliefs are not my church beliefs. Christianity is not universal. Some of it is, but not all. That's the problem with Bush. Not all Christians are the same....just like not all Jews are the same.......and so on.

Be proud of who you are. Being gay isn't a disease to assign blame to someone for. You couldn't pay me to turn straight, were such a thing possible. I would miss out on knowing so many great people. There's no way I'd trade that for brwn_eyes' idea of heaven. A place like that would be sheer hell to me, anyway. Don't waste time wishing you could be someone you're not because you think it would be "easier."
Excellent. I agree.
and i'm gonna do a repost...

And, logically, it occurs to me that God, if there is one, would never have made 15-25 percent of the population throughout time gay, if that is not what he/she/it had wanted. It is only man's interpretation that makes it so. Nature in it's many and varied forms is all beautiful, and all have a place in the mosaic, otherwise it would not be here. We are all one.
Again, i'm not religious in the Christian way, but if i was, that is how i'd think of god. I would think that everything was created for a reason, and everything is good, and has it's place. No creation would have more or less importance.
I, personally, think of gay people as berdache - one who knows the balance between both worlds...male and female...

Agreed. I made a decision one day and went forth with it. People make me question it sometimes, but for me, it will always be the right decision.

Again hatred and misunderstanding towards me and my views keeps on rolling.

I neither hate nor misunderstand. I just don't trust you.

That's the problem - morals can't be "spread." We can state what we believe and why we believe it, and try to live our lives according to what we believe is right, but everyone has to make that choice for themselves. When I join in these discussions (admittedly rarely), it's usually to try to clarify misunderstandings or defend what I feel are unfair statements or mischaracterizations. Some Ledgies believe in the Bible, some don't. These posts don't change any minds. I do hope, however, that these discussions can promote understanding between those who disagree. That doesn't always happen - and sometimes it seems the opposite occurs - but that's always been my goal.

Default bottom line:

I would rather be "Christ-like" than Christian.
(and YES I have a LONG way to go...)
