Needles and Pins. Pure rock energy from her and Petty.

You should hear the copy I have of When Sunny Gets Blue, it's unlistenable. VERY bad quality, almost as bad as the What About Love performance with Heart and Grace Slick.

I like At Last, even if she didn't do it any justice whatsoever, but I cry when I hear Sunday Kind of Love. Please stop doing Etta, Stevie. I saw Etta do SKOL and At Last at a free concert in Hartford two years ago and she's still magnificent. That voice is golden.

My version of Wild Thing with her and Petty (I think), is also terrible.

You're welcome!

This live version is way more kick a$$ than the solo video version, IMO. Stevie appears very much out of it in the video . . .

Can I get some love for "Outside the Rain"??? I never really cared for this song until I heard the live versions- it packs a nice punch. And even though it has been played to death, it is still her strongest setlist opener, especially with Carlos Rios' wailing guitar soloing. I thought "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" (which she didn't write either, BTW) as the opening number on the TISL tour was kind of lame.

hmm, i disagree. I don't like Outside that much, but i thought SDMHA sounded great.
however, i will give you a little "love" for it...

I would've mentioned "Outside the Rain" because it is my favorite Stevie solo song (even better than "Gate and Garden" ) but the thread's just about songs Stevie didn't write that have rockin' live versions and she wrote that one. I'm with you--the song rules, live or in the studio, though I'm partial to the studio version. SDMA rocks, too.
