Default I won a prize!

We have an annual "Student Affairs Breakfast" every year at work for the employees. It's boring, they make you sit with strangers from other departments & the food isn't great. It's not really mandatory, but it kind of is.

Anyway, after eating runny eggs & getting a new glass of H2O (of course, mine had a bug in it) they started calling names for prizes. They called me & although I usually go for the obvious gift certificates, I picked up a framed picture wrapped in brown paper.

When I unwrapped it, I saw a framed poster from last year's "UB Distinguished Speakers Series." I was like, "great, what the f*ck am I going to do with this? And why are they giving me last year's poster? And why is it framed?" Then I realize - it's autographed by every one of the speakers from last year: Antwone Fisher, Wolf Blitzer, Bill Cosby, Joyce Carol Oates, Kweisi Mfume, J.C. Watts & Tim Russert. It's pretty nice, actually. Sure beat the picture frame that the chick next to me picked, and the Trivial Pursuit game my boss got.

I also get 2 tix to one of the remaining series this year: Either Dr. MichaelEric Dyson, Salman Rushdie or Janet Reno vs. Ann Coulter. Any opinions on which I should go to?

That's awesome, Paula.

Personally, I wouldn't be able to control my gag reflexes long enough to see Ann the Man, but if you can, more power to ya. Bring some pies, though.

No clue - the UB Office of Special Events picked her.

Every time I think of Ann "vs" Janet, I think of SNL's Janet Reno's Dance Party with Will Farrel as Janet kicking someone's ass.

Oh, that's hard. You've gotta see Reno vs. Coulter. I can't pick between Dyson and Rushdie though. I think it would have to be Rushdie.
